I'm after a bit of advice. I have two computers one downstairs and one upstairs. On the downstairs pc I have AOL broadband access . I would like to
be able to access it through the computer upstairs at the same time. After looking into it, I have found that the way to do it is to network the
computers either through a router or with a wireless connection. My question is this. I have a phone socket already present in the upstairs room , and
a spare modem. Could I not simply plug a second modem into my second pc and access the internet simultaniousley that way? This wasn't shown as a way
of doing it when I looked into it , so I'm assuming that it wouldn't work although I can't figure out why. Is it because the phoneline can't work
with two modems at the same time.

Any help ASAP would be greatly appriciated cause if I can't simply use the other modem , then I want to get to PC world today and get myself
networked.

yes the phone line cannot take 2 modems at the same time...
get a wireless internet connection (but not if your 2 computers are desktops) or get the router...
thats my advice...
hope it helps...
