Toddler's Elmo Doll Makes Death Threats, Family Says

A Lithia family says a cuddly, programmable Elmo doll revealed its dark side yesterday after fresh batteries were installed.

Instead of singing songs or reciting the favorite color of its 2-year-old owner, James Bowman, the doll started making death threats, the family says.

With a squeeze of its fuzzy belly, the Sesame Street character now says, in a sing-song voice, "Kill James."

That's unnerving. Besides the main story... look at how programs infiltrate childrens minds. "He saw it on his diaper..." ever since then it's his favorite. We live in a mulit-faceted mind-prison. lol I cant keep ats out of bts.

Good point!

Didn't even click until you mentioned it, wow!

And the conditioning involves the parental units as well, notice how the mother catered to the demands of the child?

Fixating on one toy line can't be healthy.

Could lead to to the kid becoming a plushophile.

Isn't there a possibility that the parents or someone in the family programmed this doll to say that? That was mentioned in the news video that the doll hooks up to a computer and that is how it learns the child's name.

I want one nonetheless I would have it saying all sorts of evil things. But that's me. HA HA HA.

Cmon how threatening can an Elmo doll be it's not like it's Chucky for crying out loud.

Silly isn't it?

But I'm under the impression that there was a limited amount of input choices, such as; the child's name, age, favorite color, that sort of thing.

These were then incorporated with the standard vocalizations to customize the user's experience.

A mother in Dallas is one of several parents complaining about a new interactive book for toddlers in which Sesame Street character Elmo asks "who wants to die?" according to a Local 6 News report.

What the heck's going on here?

That's seriously wack!

I'm beginning to think I should have posted this story in the conspiracies forum on ATS.

Elmo ROCKS!

I think the phrase was meant to say "who want's to go?" But with Elmo's babyish grasp on the English language it sounded like "who wants to die?"

Man next thing you will see is Elmo being locked up next to Brittany Spears.

Man that is so freaking funny in a sick demented sort of way
