Ok folks, I see this a lot in this forum. Help! Help! Avatar! Help!

If you want an Avatar, DO NOT BUY ANYTHING IN THE STORE. It's NOT the same thing.

Avatars are FREE
Backgrounds are NOT Avatars

Background images need to be very large in order to not tile behind you avatar. Myself, I use background colors rather than images.

PS) To clear a background image, you have to BUY one but leave the image field blank.

There are some important guidelines to remember when selecting your personal avatar (the picture under your name). Avatars must be in jpg or gif format, no larger than 160px wide by 320px tall, and a file size not exceeding 75k. No inappropriate content is permitted. For more information, click here.

Okay, I'm having some troubles with this avatar. I completed all the steps, but instead of my image showing up, there is only a little box with an X inside of it. Will it take time for the image to show up? or is something wrong with the file I uploaded?

Avatar upload instructions...

1. Once you have found an image that you like right click on the image and save it your desktop.

2.On ATS click on the mCENTER button.

3. In the mCENTER on the left side there is the "Upload center" Here you can upload your new avatar to the ATS server.

4. Click the browse button and find the image on your desktop. Select it and then hit the upload button. After this, the Image URL will appear on your screen, copy this URL.

5. Next go to the settings button on the top left of the ATS website. Then select Edit Profile.

6. Scroll down until you find "Avatar URL:" Paste your Image URL into the empty box.

7. Click the EDIT profile button at the bottom of the page.

the steps that you gave me mechanic are the exact steps that I followed, it even said that my account was successfully updated, but nothing happened..

Try to do it over again, something is wrong.

The url of your avatar looks like this...
www.abovetopsecret.com...

The url of my avatar looks like this....

files.abovetopsecret.com...

Yours should look similar, except for different filename, etc.

Make sure that the upload finishes, you will have your image url displayed in the upload area. You will not have to right click on anything to obtain the url.

Try again, and let me know what happens....

Alrighty, I did it! That was easy. Is it live? Cause I can't see it on my previous posts. At least, not yet?

I don't see anything here either. Did you edit your profile, to include your avatar?

Yes I put in exactly this: files.abovetopsecret.com...

and pressed /update profile/ and checked back, it dissapeared

Okay, you uploaded it alright, but something is wrong. Your profile did not update to include avatar.

I see the problem. The image is too wide. It should be 160 pixels maximum width, 320 pixels maximum height, and filesize < 75k.

hmm........ still no such luck. may I slap whoever said this stuff is easy? jk!

Again thank-you. I had to use copy and past, paint and all those newby techniques to get the measurement right but now it works!

..I'll definetly stop by the ATS store when I get a chance
