Have you ever been unlucky enough to visit the ATS Store in the member center and been confronted with a horridly blank, infinitely black section where the ATS Store should be?



Well, ATS member Toxic Fox did, and he started a thread all about it, a thread where many an ATSer came forth to tell their tales of woe and terror when confronted with the dark enigma that had somehow usurped the place of the ATS Store.

And hence was born the legend, the scourge that is...

Thou shalt be spared when the BBN takes over ATS, BTS and PTS once and for all!

The black box appears only for a short time then it displays the regular information. It's just an under-laying background colour drawn before the ATS store dialogue is displayed. This problem is common among many websites. I recommend that you upgrade your web browser to the latest version. Make sure that all of your system's libraries are up to date and that none are missing.

It may be a result of your web browser too. FireFox tend to hang for a while but it will eventually load (much slower then IE, but it will eventually). You may also have a much slower connection then I do (unless you have a 10mb/s speed) so let it sit for a while (grab a coffee or something ). Make sure you don't have any programs blocking or restricting your connection speed.

FireFox showed that the connection gets interrupted on connection to the ATS server, press refresh a few times and the regular information may be displayed. IE automaticly restablishes a connection sometimes, but you should press refresh a few time too.

These should be the common reasons you are getting a "big black nothing".

Eyewitness reports have it that the phenomenon otherwise known as "The Big Black Nothing" has reached pandemic proportions and is now affecting websites of mainstream media outlets.

Apparently this unprecedented "nothingness" knows no bounds and currently poses a threat to life as we know it!

Scientists at the University of Trial and Error have concluded that "at it's current rate of absolute consumption the BBN will continue to spread unchecked until it has encompassed the entire globe".

The BBN is moving faster than originally thought. I see we have some excellent and hilarious offerings from some smart people - people who know that once the BBN takes over the entire universe, only those who paid homage will be spared and showered with sets of Ginsu steak-knives and other wondrous gifts from the great black one. Well done!

It seems the BBN has been hidden in plain sight for years, controlling things from behind the scenes, disguising itself and its true color when necessary:



If only anyone had bothered to actually read that when it appeared, we may have been able to stop the BBN before it became too powerful. But alas!

. . . and we have been under the assumption that it was merely the "Blue Screen of Death".

Even with the advent of WinXP and the security enhancements included in Service Pack 1 and Service Pack 2, the Big Black Nothing continues it's quest. Patch this, Update that, Firewall ON, Cookies OFF!?

I have heard from several rather unreliable sources that the BBN has an affinity for certain key combos.
