ATTENTION: Points System Is Being Revamped

We're now splitting the points system between the threee boards.

For a time, no posts and replies will earn points until the new code is stabalized.

After that, with the exception of the special forums, all posts earn the author 1 point, and thread-authors earn 2 points for each reply.

More updates when the process is complete.

I would like to know how the points I have under PTS got there? I am sorry to say that I have never posted there. Was it taken out of our normal points? Sorry for all the questions what I should be saying is:

I know you were all working hard, and this is really showing the work that our Council aloung with our Mods are continuing doing, just after a new server!

We originally hoped to recount all member posts to calculate new point totals, but the code beacome impossibly complex for only a minor outcome. So we applied the same general ratio to all members and split your existing points between the 3 boards.

1 point? Does that mean I need to make at least 250 posts a month to keep up my RATS access without running out of points eventually?

My fingers will fall off!

good point (pun) ...but I bet SO has an answer ready for that.

One thing about it...to newer members, some will seem modestly middle class but there will be others who will seem like the ultra elite.

I was wondering what all the 'parse errors' were all about...now we know.

Im going to have to agree with twitchy. Most of my posts were on BTS, so before I didn't get any points from those posts. I have 1309 posts, approximatly 80% of posts being bts. So really, im loosing points.

Well I guess that will be reflected in your points then I don't mind either way, points are points, what would really be cool is new options in that member center! Something to do with these cool new points! When might we see something like that happen?

Yea I was actually looking forward to purchasing RATS for a month or two just to check it out, but if it still costs 5,000. Well lets just say that I won't get it for a few years.....

If I'm not mistaken, Gazrok is probably the only one who can afford a webmail account anymore, assuming those come back to the general public.

Or post more news articles, if I am not mistaken I don't remember anyone mentioning those lil babies loosing their 750 point value ( I think thats what they run at now) Maybe there still is hope

Dont forget that good, well thought out posts can be rewarded with applause from staff, council members and FSME's, all of which carry point bonuses.

Maybe I'll get my points back that were taken because of short answers.
