I really miss John Lear
By: weedwhacker on September 6
I am the first to admit, that when I first discovered ATS...I was drawn in by the name of 'Lear'. I KNEW the father's work, obviously, on the LearJet. AND, I had a sense of the son, and his accomplishments. AND he has done well, the Son. William Lear has left this...

I'm getting sick of these election topics.
By: Frankidealist35 on September 5
They're always about someone bashing Obama or Mccain or someone bashing Palin or saying she's good or about something she's said. Can we just get back to posting about conspiracy theories here? I know it'll be like this for a while but let's remember why we are here. This...

What is Excessive Quoting?
By: Quazga on September 5
So I was happily posting today and quoted someone to maintain context, I quoted 15 lines. Then I was WARNED that I had excessive quoting and the text was removed. What gives? If 15 lines is excessive quoting (including the quotation mark lines) then what exactly...

Mirthful's Law... An axiom regarding on-topic discussion...
By: Mirthful Me on September 2
Most people who participate on discussion boards are aware of and the ramifications and inferences by those who chose to eschew this postulate. It has come to my keen simian synapse that a similar though far more localized...

Attention All ATS Members - Vote for the best worst funniest here on ATS
By: TH3ON3 on August 31
I have what I think is a fantastic idea to improve ATS and even improve the visibility of the site for little or no cost, except for the owner(s) having to recode. Why not let members in good standing be able to VOTE...

You are hereby invited to listen to the MODcast
By: neformore on September 2
Yep. Thats right.....The powers that be finally let the moderators out of the cages long enough and into a secret bunker to record our thoughts, discuss the board and generally lose the plot in front of microphones and recording...

By: whatukno on September 1
This needs to be moved to the appropriate forum, god help me I have no clue which exact forum. This is for the ATX MIX show. It's just an idea, but I think a great addition to the show would be a critique of the...

Can I make a hoax on BTS?
By: Frankidealist35 on September 1
I mean... since like BTS is like not ATS so I thought I could make a hoax there as long as I could say it's a hoax in the topic title. As long as it's obvious that it's a hoax it's fine isn't it?

Registration Date
By: Lucid Lunacy on September 3
I was wondering why the member registration date info in the avatar is in a very cryptic format? Why doesn't it just display it coherently with a standard format? Such as 7/20/1982, for example... I for one would...

For those who are unaware of the term "clout", here in the UK it has a couple of meanings, one of them being, how much influence do you have in certain situations. Example: I want to go have a look around a place, say...

Are some boards picky?
By: Frankidealist35 on August 31
I find that some forums will die after I make a post. It seems like the members here don't respond to the topics for a really long time... and they post in some other topic. Yet they'll post in a topic that they find interesting....
