All of them, including Gerald Ford, who suffered inordinant perception downgrade because of stellar comedy bits by Chevy Chase.
The presidency is not a popularity contest. A more worthwhile challenge is to list where this administration has brought us to a better place by fruition of their policies?
Can't be economic; where about to break the debt ceiling ...again.
Can't be social; we've had a massive increase in the number of people falling below the poverty line.
Can't be international; we are a "BB" investment for the world now, considered dangerous, and already are the worlds second Super power to the EU in every way except military.
Can't be saftey; we had 9/11, anthrax bio-terror attacks against our companies/citizens/Senate, and the Mid-Atlantic was held hostage during a terroism reign of random sniper murders.....all these things were on GW's watch.

If only the new term brought with it a clean slate, no?

I just voted wats because your posts are always so in depth and intellectually titilating... This one wasn't so much titillating just very good points...

I would like to quote a National Guardsman

Kerry had a plan to get our troops out of Iraq. An in depth plan to remove them from that country. Bush's plan had no light at the end of the tunnel.

This was said this past Monday. I think it's sad that these men know they are stuck there for God knows how long with no end in sight.

Might want to re-check those pollings taken on 'why' Bush was re-elected, maybe?

Bush must leave those stem cells alone... he has no right to ban research that could improve peoples lives, just because of his fanatical religious beliefs.

People first.

You're one to talk, having as your model for world domination the institution that has been responsible for the murder of over 100 million innocent human beings.

If you don't like nationalism, Mr. Knowitall, why don't you find some unclaimed patch of ground to reside and live out your life. If you reside in the United States, you won't be missed one iota.

But nationalism is KILLING innocent people in Iraq.. the idea that you must spread your form of government even if the other people resist it must be stopped now.

There is nothing wrong with being proud of your flag.. but when it begins to infringe on the rights of your fellow humans elsewhere... it must stop.

what "model".. you must be having those paranoid conservative delusions again that anyone who is on the political left is a fan of Stalin.

As your nutcase bible waving lackeys... they have every right to exist in America as I do. Your just angry your christian values don't run this country. This country is a mixture of all races and religion.. deal with it.

Still looking for that unclaimed patch of ground? Still wasting oxygen and natural resources? Forget your hat? Try Google. Oh! Too bad! They expect capital. I guess your just have to steal one in the grand tradition of Marx and Engles.

Afghanistan elected it's first elected leader in history yesterday. Iraq will elect a leader by vote in January. That's progressive, in my book.

IGNORANCE I SAY!! IGNORANCE IN IT'S PUREST FORM! My God!!! Maybe your post would make sense if it wasn't AN ALL VOLUNTEER ARMY! I support our army and the DECISION THAT THEY HAVE MADE to sign up and defend the freedom that we have in the country. I greatly respect those people who voluntarily put their lives on the line for people like me who just want to make a living in this country. I support what these troops are doing, for me and everyone else VOLUNTARILY.

Oh, and to all you people who are saying parents should send their kids:

You're using the same warped logic as Michael Moore. Parent's in general never send their kids to war, the kids do it themselves. I respect your argument much more (Although still not that much) when you talk about people THEMSELVES joining....saying they should sign themselves up is just stupid.

Yeha a puppet government ran by the CIA. Yeha sure, you can't even keep simple public officals from being gunned down or bombed over in Iraq.. it's because the people want to govern themselves as they see fit. They realize the Americans are installing puppet governments and are against that.

If it becomes a Muslim theocracy so be it.. it's up to them.. not us.

Open up your mind...

Herman..

How is the Iraq invasion making your rights any more secure? It makes little sense as Iraq posed no threat.

There are other places in this world that are 1 million times more a threat.

these days its so nit and grit that you're pretty much supporting the war by simply stepping out of your house. when you buy something, where does the tax go? even if its a fraction, you can't really help it anymore, and that's what these elections are for, to get someone else in who should be doing and shouldnt be doing certain things.

and as far as talks about george bush being a hero, how can you be a hero for attacking something your government created for the self interests of those previously in office way back when, especially when those interests have become your own?

dfh out.

ps: intrepid, cant wait and hope that the loon goes sky high. but on the note of colour and paper, i think it should all be comverted to plastic, as it is in australia, soo nice, oh yea...

I wrote this in a different post, but I want to repeat it hear. It amazes me that many people voted for Bush on moral issues and didn't take into effect the issues listed below.

Hmmm....an abortion issue that won't be overturned anytime soon because it's deeply ingrained into the American psyche; huge Republican spending both domestically and internationally that's bankrupting our country; growing hatred of America abroad; growing economic and political isolation; relentless recruitment of terrorist cells to combat us; proof in the terrorist's own backyard that we're there to impose our ideals and system of government; porous US borders that Republicans keep "open" to funnel cheap labor to their corporate bedfellows that lazy Americans won't do, despite the fact that thousands of "Other Than Mexicans" are making it through; a growing potential for a draft; the coming together of a de facto American theocracy ruled by millions that sometimes place Israeli security on the same level as our own, despite calls for a separation of Church and State; a weakening dollar caused by endless war; a shaky stock market caused by endless war; major job losses; an economy that constantly takes two steps forward and one back; and political spending and fraud on a level unseen in the history of the world.

Sounds good. We should all just vote on the abortion and stem-cell issues. Damn the security and economic viability of our nation, our people, and the world.

Ah ah ah, apparently you're color blind! Not everything is black and white! Just because somebody is for most of what Bush stands for, it doesn't mean they have to support everything he's doing.

Thirddensity:

I'm not going to argue over the validity of this war again. I've done it numerous times already in other threads. My post was merely about the chain of logic that many of you people have. Don't spin it around and try to turn it into an argument about something else. I still rest my case - Just because you are for the war doesn't mean you have to fight it. You can support what these other people are doing, and respect the sacrifice they've made.

And yes, I do support this war and believe that it will make us safer.

Herman,

You're right. I'll leave all the other issues aside. The number one issue for Bush is the war. While many of us will agree to disagree with the reasons, the fact is, history will remember Bush for his wars and preemptive strikes.

With that being the number one issue in his presidency, it boggles my mind how so many people completley overlooked this issue. How can people who voted for Bush not be willing to contribute to this war when that is what the Bush presidency is all about?

Ha Ha Ha, yeah, they "elected" a bloke who used to work for haliberton who is under the thumb of americam control. First election - give me a break.

I am a natural conservative and i am also an atheist, i belive bush to be a christian fundementalist. Can you explain please Grady how this is different from a muslim fundementalist as both are just as dangerous. They kill people in streets and behead people and the americans drop bombs where they THINK people are, no checks at all, at least they kill people they think is the enemy, america drops bombs and whoever is in the way.....too bad. I support no side in this but the USA made saddam who he was, they made bin-laden who he was. Its like bad parents raising a kid, paying no attension at all and belting the kid for doing somthing they think is wrong.

Polotics and religeon have no place at the same table. What religeous people do in their homes is their own business. Try to run a nation on these values and WAR WAR WAR. Read some history. Bush is NO HERO at all, he is dangerous for the whole world.

I liked the bit in farenheit 9/11 where moore tries to recruit the children of american polotitians and most laugh, the leaders children should be there first if this really is worth dying for.

If america was invaded Bush would be cowering in a bunker while others died......need i say more.
