Wild cards books

Topic started on 31-10-2004 @ 02:22 AM by Amuk

Just wondering if anyone else has discovered this series of books.

They are about an alien virus called the wild card virus that affects everyone different.

You might draw the black queen and die or draw a joker and become deformed, although some deformities were "good" like wings or you might draw an ace which gives you super powers or a duece which gives minor powers.

I loved the series and if is being published again with new stories.

Some of the stories are of an adult nature but not porn.

If you liked comics as a kid you will loves these as an adult

I guess I am the only one to have read them?

If you liked Comics as a kid you would LOVE the wild cards

It also has an alternate history aspect, like Buddy Holley is alive and Carters attempt to rescue the hostages in Iran was a "Ace" attempt not military.

I can not hype these books you can get them on Amazon for just a few bucks and they are well worth it

Here is some of their "superheros" or "Aces"

A Pimp named Fourtino who powers come from tantric sex

A kid that turns into dinosaurs

The Oddity, Three people who merged into the same body while doing the nasty

The Turtle a powerful telepath that can only use his powers when he is in his "Shell" an armored plated VW bug

Captain Trips who turns into different "Aces" depending on what drug he takes

A woman with wings named Peregrine

A black super strong ace named the Harlem Hammer

The list is endless

I highly recommend the series

The first is called "wild cards" oddly enough....LOL

Its kinda slow but its mainly to just set the background for the series, it gets better as they go and plotlines are layered on top of plotlines from the end of WW2 till now. If you liked comics as a kid you will love these although you wont find any spandex wearing "super-heroes".

It is better read from first till end but most books are "triliogys" or sets of three.
