so don't bring up anything in the biblical period, things that happened AFTER the bible was written only count.

i want something that is specific, not a very broad, general, prediction.

Nahum 2:4
The chariots shall rage in the streets, they shall justle one against another in the broad ways: they shall seem like torches, they shall run like the lightnings.

The use of the automobile.

and

Th Rev. Sun Myung Moon says he is the 2nd coming of Christ.

Matthew 24:5
For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.

and

If you watch the news you can hear talk of maybe a war with Iran to stop there nuclear program.

Matthew 24:6
And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.

I'm a 'her' ... but thanks!

I just don't see what the big push for this Rapture cult is.
It has NOTHING to do with Salvation.
It was invented by Darby in the 1800's.
It's dangerous to count on an easy out which none of the
saints throughout history received.
It's better to prepare for tribulation and then if
something else happens ... have it be a happy surprise
rather than count on it and be caught short.

Just common sense.

They carry bad Karma. I don't think you want them.

But I tell you that men will have to give account on the day of judgment for
every careless word they have spoken. For by your words you will be
acquitted, and by your words you will be condemned. –Jesus Christ
(Matthew 12:36-38)

And there is that quote ... about not speaking ill of your brethren ...
hafta' go look that one up.

And of course ... Judge not lest ye' be judged .....

Considering the warnings -
Guess Lastday forgot those parts of the bible.

first quote is way too general, there isn't even anything about horseless chariots.

second quote applies to any leader of a fringe religious group

quote 3, well, since that was written, what period of time hasn't had wars and/or rumors of wars? i can't think of any, so its too general.

burden of proof: not met

The automobile with headlights is a specific thing that happened after the Bible was written.

Not every leader proclaims to be Jesus, this one did fulfilling another prediction. David Koresh another one.

Thousands of years ago the American Indian living in North America had no idea that across the sea the Roman Empire was warring and conquering.

Today all continents can "hear" of wars and the rumors of wars before they happen and after they happen we can turn on a TV and see battles as they happen.

burden of proof: met if one truly wants to hear

actually, new evidence suggests that native americans might have had contact with west and north africans during the rise of the roman empire, so they may have.

also, i was just saying that the "cars" quote just doesn't seem like a description of anything in particular. i've heard people coming up with more specific things during a drug OD (from when i volunteered at a hospital in highschool), so it seems just a bit suspect.

none of those are specific events, though, they're general things that eventually happened. no time, place, date, or the like has ever been mentioned.

** BUMP **

The Rapture Cult discussion has been raised once again, so I'm bumping this thread up to show the new folks that this has been discussed. They can look at it and not have to go hunting for it.
