I've thought about it and you know what. Trying to shut down the porn industry would be like trying to shut down all the Churches. It just
wouldn't happen. It's too big and there are just too many people in favor of it to even try to do anything about it.
I would like to see the Marches on Washington though to save the porn Industry. Those would be some funny marchers....

heres my two cents...
Video porn taught me all i knew about sex before i lost my virginity, sure sex ed taught me about condoms, and stds, but it never taught me how to
have sex. Prior to viewing video porn my impression was that you stuck it in... waited... then came... (please excuse the 'graphic detail'). Then i
realised (thanks to my dads video porn) that there was actually movement and stuff involved. If i hadnt learnt that i could've madea huge fool of
myself wheni lost my virginity (i probably wouldnt have coz i would've figured something out i'm sure). So i say yes to porn! It saved me alot of
face and made me a very happy 15 year old!
Also without porn what would i have done all those days that i skipped school and stayed home without my parents knowing? What would i do all day at
work? What would i do when my girlfriend is in a bad mood?... hmmm too much info... lol

I noticed some1 saying it would be basically impossible to shut down the porn industry i agree. The scale which it exists on is massive.
The way i think of it is if the porn get taken away in a manner, what about the people who are not in relationships or really old, this could be taken
away there way of getting sexually aroused.
Am not saying all people who are single and old watch porn but am sure there are some for that reason.

Thinking about it....If the porn industry gets shut down the Hand Lotion and Lube companies will go down the drain. It's because of the porn
industry people who normally wouldn't buy lotion do so because they watch porn and masturbate.
Got to love lotion....

I don't think porn should be illegal, however I think it should be regulated for obvious reasons...
If it's not hurting anyone or endangering any lives why should the government get involved in the issue?

Tha'ts the thing a lot of people argue that it is hurting people. Such as the youth of America. which your first statement would help with that.
But me being 17 right now. I would not agree. it's a great release for teens. I mean yeah certain teens shouldn't. And yeah corruption blah blah
blah. But i mean being 17 I sort of have a biased opinion right now. I've been looking at porn for years. I mean the internet is great. I love
it. And now that i'm older and got a few older buddies who have some DVDS and they let me borrow some of them. I mean. It's a wonderful thing
man. Got to love porn. It will never be illegal either. No matter what anyone says. At least i hope not. Without it we would have a lot more
violence cause all these teens wouldn't have a release for their sexual energy and would have some built up issues. So yeah porn will live forever
and it's a good thing.

Keep it Legal
there is too much government in our lives already. if we don't absolutely need a rule (like no murder), lets get rid of it. too much government,
too much taxes and too little benefit from them.

It has always amazed me that you can watch 50-100 random acts of violence in an average night of television, but the first time someone is shown nude
or god forbid having sex, then it is outrage and blasphemey. When did the most natural function that humans have (besides sleeping and eating) become
vulgar or dirty or evil? I hate to beat a dead horse, but it stems from all of this pent up sexual repression perpetrated by religion. I agree that
some form of pornography are deplorable, but asside from the truly deviant stuff, I think it is harmless. And if I had to have my kid see anything, I
would much rather have them see a naked person or a sexual act that to watch someone being blown apart or murdered any day. When did the nude human
form become obscene?

I'm jumping on the bandwagon here that says porn should in no way be made illegal. I do believe it should have a few more controls on it though.
On the web today any child with access to a computer has access to porn. I want my children to learn about sex in the back seat of a car or on a
strangers couch like I had too. It's a time honored tradition.
My father had a stack of playboy magazines stashed away and when I found them as a teen I was the most popular kid in school. When my son found my
stash of playboys he was already the most popular kid in school but his popularity became legend after that. Swear to God his picture hangs on the
school walls to this day.
I'm all for porn, just not the in your face stuff thats so easy to access on the web. Porn should get its own XXX domain so that our children can
return to learning the secrets of sexuality in the gutter, like we had to.
Just my humble opinion,

Hi All,
Sorry I didn't read the whole thread as my computer starting spinning in a drunken haze. I hope nobody brought this up before making porn illegal is
similar to prohibition, which never works. They cannot eliminate porn unless society needs even more sexually frustrated people out there.
On the other hand, porn does reflect unrealistic desires that can harm a person as far as choosing a spouse (this works for women and men) Although
physical beauty is awesome it does fade. And more relationships are falling apart because (now this is opinion) a guy is always looking for a more
fertile seed so to speak. No I don't have any answers to the problem, I'll just keep surfing the web for porn and be somewhat satisfied with that.
Personally I blame in some part the feminist movement for demasculation of the male. Yeah this is paranoid stuff, but I reccomend articles from Henry
Makow about the destruction of the nulcear family and what not.
Thank You

Thinking about that... Porn, for the most part, is about the solitary viewer watching sexual acts and masturbating. Is it anything to do with sexual
frustration? People who get regular sex watch porn, for instance. Is there any indication that watching and reacting to porn relives sexual
frustration or just a sexual urge at that time? Is it possible that porn can encourage sexual frustration? You could be watching stuff that you dont
usually get, for instance.
Just some thoughts I had.

Ah my favorite subject, just kidding. I think it should be kept legal and made a more respected bussiness. Heck I think like someone mentioned
earlier, religion in many ways is as harmful if not more cuz it weighs people down with unnecessary guilt and shame. Some great man said once that
there was a time when there was no indecency attached to the sex act. Thats all been created to keep us from multiplying like kittens.
In other words if some kids mom happens to be a stripper or a porn star, I think that kid should be proud that she/his mamma looked good enough to do
the job and not walk around with their head hung down in shame. In other words I think it should be a career choice. Sorry if I'm too liberal.

explicit links :O
The porn industry needs to be regulated...When an Industry or activity is legalised, it is regulated and controlled...what your suggesting is absurd
and your conservative view is short sighted.
I think I have prosecuted more obscenity cases in the history of the
United States, just because I've been involved in 700 or 800 obscenity cases. I've done 100 jury trials in maybe 25 states. I've done 200-some
appeals. some excepts below:
 What was 1973 pornography like?
When I started doing prosecutions in 1973 and 1974, I started doing trials by the dozens. The kind of material we did in so-called adult bookstores,
the hardcore shops in Cleveland, was pretty much the same material that you have today in adult bookstores or theaters or in videocassettes in the XXX
section of a video store. It's penetration clearly visible, group activity.
We didn't see as much of the more extreme stuff [then] -- the bondage, the torture, the excretory material. You could get that, but it was
underground; you had to know somebody, you had to talk to clerks, they had to know you were a real perv and all that.
Nowadays the difference is that all of the extreme material is available on the Internet, so if you go to some of these sites, they'll have
group sex, they'll have adults of same sex, different sex, and then they have an animal picture and a urination picture and a torture picture all on
the same site. ...
What adjectives would you use to describe the mindset in America in the 1970s and 1980s about pornography? ...
In the 1970s, everybody knew that the hardcore stuff was sleazy because it looked sleazy. It was in downtown, back-alley, dirty bookstores. The
only place you could get hardcore porn was in these little red and gold blinking light goofball places that the cops had to wear plastic bags on their
shoes to go into there. The peep shows were full of diseases, and it was just awful.
People could see more of what it was. And so when somebody said, "We need a law," they would go, "Of course we need a law." If somebody says, "We
need to enforce this law, these people are guilty," "Of course." And so it was a more matter-of-fact thing.
The Meese Commission. I've had pornographers say, "It was the best thing that ever happened to our business, because the more taboo you make things,
the better it is for our business."

This is an exceptional article:
Porn for Conservatives
Fourteen years ago, of course, Reagan's Attorney General Ed Meese launched a celebrated (and reviled) antiporn crusade that included a bevy of busts;
but since then the LA-based industry has grown into a multibillion-dollar business reaching into nearly every corner of America, culturally,
politically and even economically. Consider that an estimated 25,000 video outlets across the nation stock adult material and that more than 10,000
new adult-video titles are released each year; last year there were 711 million rentals of hard-core sex films. Porn is a $10 billion industry--$4
billion of that in explicit video sales--that even has links to corporate parents like General Motors and AT&T. (Whatever collective pain and
persecution the industry suffered during the Reagan and Bush the Elder years, when Bill Clinton rolled into the White House with a social agenda that
did not call for the outright destruction of smut, pornographers in the San Fernando Valley--Wicked Pictures, Vivid Video, VCA and Hustler Video are
the biggies--saw eight years of relative green lights and blue skies.)

I agree with an earlier post if you dont like it, dont watch it, simple. But to make it illegal and think that it is going to stop it is bs..thats a
capital BS...
this is not about being conservative or liberal...it is about being responsible as a society.

But I do think there should be a better way to keep it away from the curious eyes of children.

There is ways to handle that. Net nanny or other software for blocking things of that nature or sit with your child while they surf the net if its
that worrying.
There is even a built in Censor tool in Internet Explorer. Click on TOOLS/Internet Options/Content and Click on Enable Content Advisor. It can be
password protected. I don't know how well it works but I've had people come to me that forgot their passwords and they were unable to get to most
adult sites. best of all..its free!
