Flock of bird pictures with an object 'blowing up'??

<<  1    2  >>

Topic started on 6-2-2010 @ 08:30 PM by tezzajw

My friend took these pictures a few months ago and showed them to me today. He took a series of pictures of a flock of birds flying in front of the Moon. The location is about 50 kms West of Melbourne.

He thought that one of the birds had a piece of string stuck to it, which made him check out the pictures in more detail. It kind of looks like something is entering the atmosphere, looping and then blowing up. I've cut the images to only show the important part.

The Moon can't be seen in these pictures. In the first two pictures, the Moon is towards the upper right. In the last two images, the Moon is almost directly right. I don't know why the 'object' appeared to change position in the sky? Dust on the lens? Who knows.

There's probably not enough detail to determine anything. I told him that I would post them here in case someone has seen something similar?

It sure does - looks like one of the birds is laying down some serious poop...

Kinda like the thought that this should be in the alien/ufo forum - poop.

Looks like a load of "bird poop" to me.

Sorry, but that's exactly what that looks like.

Cheers.

Can't really tell much about it.It certainly looks like something that was whole and then started to fall apart. What it was I haven't a clue.

Being an avid goose hunter, I can assure you it is nothing more than goose poop falling. They do it constantly while flying and it look like these pics.

Search for photos of "jets shooting flares". That's my explanation. Fighter jets practicing dispersing high temperature flares as decoys for heat seeking weapons.

Just for the sake of discussion, OP:
If these photo's are cropped, can you provide a link of the full versions... for analysis?

Why?
You state that the individual that took the pictures said to you:
"a flock of birds"
"one of the birds looked like it had a piece of string stuck to it"

If the moon was visible in the shots, one could determine the positions of said birds... and of the trajectory of the object in question. Am I wrong in assuming that?

Now, what I see (based on the limited Field Of View in your pictures) is something.
It looks to me that it is some debris that is directly interacting with the birds.
Could it be poo... sure! And I wouldn't be surprised at all if it was. But we may never know for certain. But I do know that it is highly probable.. as I have seen it firsthand. Ever wonder why birds always seem to crap on your car windows and nowhere else?

True story:
About 10 years ago I was at a late evening BBQ with a few of my friends, and as we were sitting on the tailgate of my buddy's truck drinking some beers I pointed out a massive flock of geese overhead. Being avid outdoorsmen, we talked about it for a couple of minutes... then proceeded to finish off the coronas. At that moment I noticed something in Mike's drink, just floating there on the surface. I thought... floater...!
But it was on the rim of the bottle, and being that it was fairly fresh... I'll spare the details.

Long story short, everyone there that day concluded that it was avian fecal matter... dropped from far above. How that bird dropped a shot into a roughly 1 inch hole is beyond me. Norden bombsights anyone?

So yes, it is plausible that it is just poo.

I still want to see the full pics of this (particular incident) though!
T-

~edited, because I don't want to see full pics of bird poo in any shape and form... I just want to see the pretty bird pictures..... just a clarification.

Carry on

The Fighter Jet version could be responsible for some recent cigar-shaped UFOs sightings (warning: graphic)
www.impactlab.com... .
Jokes aside, the explanation makes sense to me
