Some things we can control, some we can't.
Maybe we can control our death if we are the ones who make it happen instead of waiting for it to happen to us.
How do you want to die?

A little macrabre to think about for this rainy evening here. And you have not yet told us how you would like to die...
But to answer your question I would prefer to die painlessly, while asleep and dreaming pleasant dreams. Just let my physical body die quietly while I
go on into that dream world where anything is possible.

Half of the time this is my wish as well. At other times I want to go out where the pain is unbearable and I can "prepare" myself as much as
possible.
No matter how, I am quite curious as to what's next. Not knowing is what makes me want to stay here as long as possible though..

Sure I need a hug doesn't everyone?
The OP asked how we would like to die. It's not like I can escape death is it?

My dad always said he wanted to die "on the upstroke." Whatever that means.

I think the thread would be more interessting if it was "how DON'T you wanna die"
TBH, i don't wanna die - but if i had to choose, i would choose sudden and painless.

Really old, fat, happy and in my sleep.
If that isn't the way it goes, I'll take their bullets as long as I get a few of 'em on the way out.

Since my wife majored in farting, I would like to go out lying in bed, with the longest fart in history.

I want to be in charge of my own death.
Kind of like how a T.V. producer will self-cancel his own show while it is still popular so the audience won't watch it grow stale and slowly
die.
I remember years ago hearing a story about how Hunter S. Thompson found out that he had some sort of cancer that there was no cure for, yet it
would take years to actually kill him.
So instead of putting his family through the emotional and financial hardship of helplessly watching him slowly die, he put a shotgun in his mouth
and pulled the trigger.
Some people say he took the cowards way out because he didn't "valiantly fight for his life". Personally, I think he took the high road because
he didn't want to see his family suffer needlessly.
Cancer or old age , when it gets to the point where I can't take care of myself, I'll take myself out of the game. I'm not going to allow a
machine to keep me alive when mother nature has her own plans.
Peace

I want to be fired out of a cannon as a human cannon ball through a chain link fence in such a way that the resultant human based slurry lands on a
crowd of swimsuit models from the future.

In a very, very traumatic way...
That way, some energy will somehow be left behind, only to become a ghost/poltergeist with major issues.
And then the Fun begins..!

OP, I'm glad you haven't gone off the grid yet, I enjoy your posts.
I would like to die by morphine OD. I had back surgery in '97 and the morphine flowing through my veins when I pushed that little button felt SOOOOO
good.
My biggest fear of death would be burning in flames, that would SUCK.
