MIB Chief Rip Torn Tears Himself A New Black Hole

MIB Star Rip Torn Goes Into Rehab After Breaking Into Bank

US actor Rip Torn was so drunk when he broke into a bank carrying a loaded gun that he thought he was home, taking off his hat and boots and leaving them by the door.

The 78-year-old was wearing the same battered boots when he was arraigned on several charges after spending the weekend in a police holding cell near his hometown of Salisbury, in northwestern Connecticut.

Torn did not enter a plea on Monday and was released on a US$100,000 (HK$780,000) bond a few hours later. Emerging amid a media throng, the smiling Men in Black actor wished onlookers a nice day but did not answer questions about the arrest. He was due to enter an alcohol rehabilitation center in New York yesterday.

You know what the difference is between Rip Torn and Nick Nolte? Rip Torn makes being a hopeless old drunk look good!

Out of the way Neil Tyson, I just found myself a new idol!!!

I wonder if he looked around and then at himself, and was like, "omg, guys, this isn't what it looks like!"

Most drunk people that knock over liquor stores get no bail or too high to make bail. This should be their new defense. "Officer I actually didn't know what I was doing". I hate how the 1337 get off so easily in our Justice system.

"Ossifer, may I - hic - ass wutcher doing in my veranda? Hm? Can't you see I am - hic - bathing my elephant here?"

Hey, temporary insanity is a time-honored and long-revered defense plea in this great nation!

You go, Rip! You just GO!

Okay, now that I have read this, I am going to send it to one of my nephews.

He was so drunk one night, he went to someone else's house and crashed on the couch. He was awoken to the po po. No, it was not the naked drunk guy on Cops.

Every chance I get I rip on him. He knows all he has to do is call and he has a designated driver.

Anyway, go Rip, show the US the two level justice system we have.

Very cool, Doc.

And there's a bit of irony here when you consider his name

"Elmore Rual Torn, Jr. (born February 6, 1931) — known as Rip Torn — is an Emmy Award-winning, Oscar-nominated American actor "

en.wikipedia.org...

So Rip is not his real first name , but the last name Torn could be the envy of heavy drinkers everywhere getting torn up.
And while getting ripped seems to go with lifting weights, it's also about being drunk.

SO, while we are on the subject of alcohol and since you mentioned Nick Nolte, I wonder , am I the only one who ever noticed that Nick Nolte looks like Gary Bussey's clone ?
