Any Gimp experts here?

Topic started on 20-1-2010 @ 12:29 AM by tribewilder

Since I can't afford Photoshop, I am trying to learn some Gimp and was wondering if anyone has any title of a good book to learn how to use it.

I have been messing around tonight and did this. Problem is, I don't know how to do anything else and know that it is almost as powerful as Photoshop. It would be a lot more enjoyable if I knew what the hell I was doing.

LOL I can see my avatar in there. Thanks for including my avatar. I drew that with my graphics tablet in GIMP.

I wonder if you have started reading those tutorials in this www.gimp.org... ? That's how I got started. There are plenty of good tutorials out there on the internet.

That's just too spooky Tribe...I was looking at Gimp just days ago too, cos I can't afford photoshop either!

Anyway....the tutorials are very welcome, and when I get this round of projects under my belt, I will definitely be trying them out.

Thank you!

Just found this thread - awesome!

I was just playing around with this today.

What I would like to do is take my avatar and background and put them together as a single background piece ... I haven't had any luck though. Complicated.

Maybe these links will help?

Yes, especially for my compulsion for wanting things to be perfect, issue.

Ah well, entertainment for rainy days.
