Actually it sounds as though the interpretations were becoming so personal and esoteric, that perhaps you are the only one who would have understood
it anyway.
But.
Art is personal. If you create something you really love, and it happens a few others love it too, even though it might mean something completely
different to them...then it's still a success. IMO.
If fact...if you create something that ONLY you love, as long as you truely love it and find it either beautiful, or useful somehow to you, then it is
still a success.
