Sounds like this is another law a third party should consider repealing, along with the Patriot Act.

I just talked to a third party candidate for the senate and I will mention this to him. He need to have a platform that appeals to both left and right wing. And the repeal of the hemp laws doesn't hurt any of the regular voters.

definitely should recommend that to him. its something quite a lot of people feel passionately about

I forgot to mention, corn especially Monsanto GMO corn is what SHOULD be made illegal the stuff is bad for you, bad for the soil and needs lots of water and fertilizer. Given a choice I rather see hemp grown than corn.

same here. the thing i love most is how they can feel free to put radioactive chemicals on vegetable and fruit crops, and put strange hormones in cows that make us fat.. but having something thats healthy and good and strong?

Jack Herer's book should be required reading for anyone who wants to learn how to eliminate competition in industry/business through a public relations campaign of fear; and how the government assisting in your propaganda campaign certainly helps.

The fact of the matter is that hemp can in fact save our planet, but so many industries and big businesses would be obsolete if hemp were allowed to compete with them.

In fact, those industries would be so obsolete that they themselves would have to start growing hemp to sustain themselves as corporations, and then we'd have all of our corporations run by a bunch of hemp smoking scruffy hippies with their crystal meth and sex orgies, which we couldn't have. Think of the children! (...sarcasm...heyooo...)

Any awareness raised towards the difference between hemp and it's byproduct sister should be heard. And people should seriously look at hemp as a very real alternative to a lot of industries run by big business!

I'll take it a step further than legalization. I say that instead of paper money based on faith/amount in circulation or paper money based on non-renewable metals that are only of value to materialists and computer chips, why not legalize hemp and make hemp paper money based on the amount of a renewable resource (hemp) we have in circulation? Yes that seems unstable, but I mean heck, the Dollar has nothing behind it. What happens when more money is spent? More dollars are put in circulation thus stimulating the economy. Now is money was based on hemp, not only would that then stimulate the economy, but it would stimulate our ability to produce, being that the more money there is out there, the more of a resource that can be used for almost anything is also out there and most likely being put to good use. Does this mean that you could then grow hemp and then just sell it for hemp dollars that you could use to buy anything else with? Yes, giving new light to "Money growing on trees," but really think about it. You could also use the hemp you just grew to make something, product, medicine, whatever, and try to sell that for hemp dollars. Or, even sell you hemp straight up to businessed that make things out of hemp.

yeah its pretty rediculous that people actually believe that crap. many dont and know the truth.. but crazily many still believe all the lies.

i find it ironic that this country was founded practically on hemp, and yet we cant grow it anymore.

its not like you saw a bunch of hippies running around back in the 1700's

Can Hemp save the world? Well not by itself. We still have to plant it first

Hemp is one of our most valued resources, it's almost as if someone said: "here, this is your renewable resource base, have fun!". And of course the stupid monkeys let the rich talk us into non renewable monopoly resources and almost forgot about this marvelous plant.

If ATS trashes threads on Hemp they suffer from lack of judgement. Hemp is part of the solutions, not the problems.

the only problem is if we all start using hemp to everything then the nitrogen would be sucked out of the soil faster than we could replace it. The plants would not grow after a few seasons.

The system is not sustainable on a mass scale.

yeah at the end of the day it really is all about money. all of the other business would be shut down because they just couldnt compete.. and they know that.. and thats why they try and keep it illegal. because they know just how GOOD it is.

meanwhile, were spending all of our money on products that arent renewable and therefor are more costly as supply runs out....

I live in Canada and have about 3 table spoons of raw hemp hearts every morning and that gives me a lot of extra energy.I don't need lunch till about 3 in afternoon.I order from a business in Alberta,costs about $9 a lb shipped to my door.
