3D FPS Shooter in 96k

.the .produkkt website

I was shown this just now. I knew these guys from the demo days of yore, and now they have managed to fit a complete game into 96k. Download it if you're bored and have a fairly fast PC.

I am utterly amazed that this much can fit into 96k. How the heck can UT2k4 need 5.2 GB!!

Anyway, it's a fairly crappy game, but is worth about 5 minutes of semi-fun. What's amazing is that what they have managed to do with this (literally) two second download. 3D shooter, sound, dynamic shadows, pixel shaders, animated bad guys. Amazing.

Amazed by the possibility of a 3d game that only takes up 96k, I had to download this. Tried it on my first computer, and the load bar made it maybe 1" across then it quit and returned me to windows. So I moved it over to my gaming box (Athalon XP 2400+, 512mb DDR PC2100 ram, and a ATI RAEDON 9600) and it started fine, and proceeded to fly thru the intro sequence. Got to the menu to start a game from, and then after hitting enter I got some nasty audio, then the game quit, and caused the system to reboot for an unknown reason. What kind of system did you try it out on Zzub?

I'm really sorry it didn't work for you. I'm on an Athlon XP 2400 +system with a gig of ram and an Nvidia FX5900. I think it may not like ATI cards, as two other people have told me it doesn't work on thier card. Ah well, you didn't miss that much anyway, the impressive bit is the small size really.

madmartinez, I'm also playing far cry, I think it's the best game I've played so far.

It's easy to fit a 3d game in 96 k ... just use DirectX 3d. With libraries that use .dll the code doesn't need to include them. I have to admit though 96k is rather small. it must be a simple 3d game.
