If you are sick .. STAY HOME!!!!

Where was that homeland security announcement when I was in high school? I'd have to have nothing short of ebola or a detached limb to get any consideration from my mom to allow me to stay home. And even then I'd probably be told to "quit whinning".

Yes, I hate this! I hate it! When I go into my office, (and we do have sick leave), here they come. "Feel my head, am I hot? do I have fever"?

"yes, you are hot. Please go home".

"oh, I know I should, but if I do, I'll get so behind, and I have so much to do this afternoon".

Now, here is where I am being manipulated into thinking someone is just hugely preposterously good. A martyr, almost.

Well, I don't. All I am thinking is "please get out of my office."
I have a lot to do to, and I can't do it if I get what you have.

Oh oh, and we have Interns. They are in their twenties, they stay out half the night, are subjected to every living virus and bacteria there is, (in the bars, I assume) and then come in the next morning hungover and sick..

"ohh. Do you have any tylenol"? I think I'm getting sick."
"Yes, here. Take the whole bottle. Just please go home."

Anyway. This has always been a pet peeve of mine. As you see.
