I just have a tendency to store important information in my memory banks.
Glad you found it 'uplifting'.
Of course the American approach to the long-shot is typically laid-back:
The reaction, mind you, seems pretty Japanese.
Incidentally, what CelticAngel doesn't realize is that I managed to find the webcam in her office on New Year's Eve:
Seems they'd trashed all the printers by that time, cleared the place & even rigged a few lights. Those Irish sure know how to celebrate!
How about we take a look at the real thing too:

forgive me
I know there are things out there that are funny - and NOT Monty Python
but I'm in a Monty Python frame of mind - it'll wear off - eventually
seemed relevant somehow

great thread!
One of my favorite verses, never ceases to inspire.
From the day when I came to love the Life,
from the day when my heart came to love the Truth.
I no longer have trust in anything in the world.
In father and mother I have no trust in the world.
In brothers and sisters I have no trust in the world.
In what is made and created I have no trust in the world.
In the whole world and it's work I have no trust in the world.
After my soul alone I go searching about,
which to me is worth generations and worlds.
I went and found my soul -
what are all the worlds to me?
I went and found Truth
as she stands at the outer rim of the worlds.
- Ginza Verse 390

I know it says where it's from - but I'm not familiar - what/who is it from?

It's from the Ginza Rba, also known as the Book of Adam.

Ach! Pause4Thought, I thought we'd disabled all the web cams! Curse you and your technical prowess!!!
Now, for inspirational, I have to nominate What Dreams May Come. It has it's grim moments, but overall I find it to be a stunning testament to
the power of love. Not just romantic love (although it has it's place) but the love that binds family and friends and truly makes up the fabric of
the universe

don't know if your thread is dead - or just resting
:-)
I just lifted a link to a video from this thread:
www.belowtopsecret.com...
it's a good thread
this is not just a gorgeous version to listen to - but the video itself is nicely done
just watched it for the ...teenth time
OK, maybe I have a little problem
but I got to thinking - this seems uplifting

...It was just resting my friend. (Me too.)
High culture? Nice move. And what a performance.
Much appreciated.
And now, how about something Slavic? The Russian soul has great depth, born of centuries, nay ages of oppression and hardship. What better to express
it than a bass, and where better to deliver it than the Bolshoi?..
Slipping gently into another medium, we rejoin the saga a little later
And conclude with the way of all flesh
I for one am stirred. I hope others have also enjoyed this evening's performance.

cool...
LOVE the Slavs - meant to ask you earlier on in this thread - you are one yourself? :-)
me too - percentage-wise - though mostly just genetically
in the nature/nurture category - missed out on being raised up in the culture
however - I am forced to admit to having an unwieldy moodiness and a persistent hankering for cabbage
and of course, a deep love for the over the top approach to all things creative - which is clearly the Russian way... :-)
anyhow - loved the vids
my last post lowered the bar for this thread - can see you've raised it -
let's see what we can dig up

I just ordered a crate-load & requested it be delivered to 'Teletubbies, c/o BBC'.
What do you think the effect might be?
(PS Re the Slavic issue: let's just say I've explored that part of the world.)
Don't forget the dollop of sour cream with the borsch. Sacrilege without it.

I think maybe then ALL the Teletubbies would be blue
I envy you - I've yet to visit the homeland of my genes
but they are constantly reminding me to seek out anything that comes with a topping of sour cream and dill
but, to be fair to the smaller portion of my genetic heritage - lasagna has totally got my number :-)

Head for St Petersburg, then. It's the Venice of the North.
DON'T drink the local water.
