Wow...gold star for honesty! LOL. I think a lot of us have an attraction to gore, but most would not have the balls to phrase it in such overt
terms!
Sadly I stay mainstream with regard to movie rentals, I won't buy them. Cannibal Holocaust, August Underground, etc... are just not available through
Blockbuster. Then again I also really like quality acting, and well, the two may be linked.

Just saw the film "Inside". Some unbelieveable parts to the plotline but pretty decent nontheless.
Its a French filmed dubbed in English.

Yeah I have been watching more foreign films lately too. Most aren't horror themed though.
The characters seem to be more quirky and reality based in many cases, more subtle than in the majority of American films.
But then again usually only the best foreign films end up in the U.S., and with subtitles I sometimes wonder if the lack of multitasking figures in.
You have to watch every bit of it to read what they are saying, can't play online, or go get a drink or whatever, they demand constant attention and
maybe that adds to the intensity of the film.

Great post, I think Peter Jackson's Bad Taste has got to be up there when it comes to dark humour and extremely graphic bloodspatteerd alien gore:

Sonya610, I may have turned you off to Bad Boy Bubby with one scene in a two hour movie - please please please see this film! It is awe-inspiring.

13 Hours In A Warehouse -- Not a bad flick. Production quality is a bit low, but the acting is good. Five guys pull of an art heist and spend
the night in a warehouse waiting for the buyer along with a female hostage . The dingy warehouse was used for making "porn films". Fairly descent
plot, interesting characters, low budget but has some creepy scenes. Not stellar, but pretty dark and worth watching, especially if you found the Ring
somewhat scary.

Hey!! Just here to recommend some more flicks.
I just watched Freeway 1&2 the other day, and they freaking rocked. They are both very losely based on fairytales. Pt 1 is red riding hood with Kiefer
Sutherland as the wolf, (not actually a wolf), and Reese Witherspoon as LRRH. It is so funny, and sooo f'd up. Pt 2 was my favorite, Natasha Lyonne
is Hansel, and another plays girl plays gretel. They escape from prison to go to 'sister gomez' to seek refuge. In one scene, instead of laying
bread crumbs down to find their way back like the fairytale, they like crack rocks instead. lol. All Iam gonna say is that both flicks are completely
insane off the wall, gritty, funny, and the characters are screwed up and likeable.
If you like grindhouse, gory melt movies, see Street Trash. It is not for everyone, there are some disturbing parts. Like the part when the bums of
the junkyard play keep away with a severed phallus. Fun movie!! Its about a bunch of bums, and this liquor store found some old stock of these pint
bottles of booze called Viper. Once its consumed, you melt into a bunch of pretty, oozey colors. If you like Toxie and that sort of thing, check it
out.

Also, on the subject of foreign movies, some movies you must buy the original version. If you end up buying an englished dubbed movie, sometimes they
are completely different from the original version, and you miss out on what was intended for the viewer.
I also believe that all movies need constant attention, not just foreign. When I watch a movie, Iam glued to the tv. I try not to miss anything
because sometimes you'll end up missing some beautiful camera angles, shots, or subtle messages or points a director or writer is trying to make. The
only thing I have against subtitles is sometimes, I have to read them real quick, and then try to take in the entire frame at the same time, and I may
miss something. Foreign films are great, and its a shame alot of people will miss out on some greatmovies just because they have to do a little extra
to see a movie.
