Three Bears No Match for Puppy

Topic started on 26-8-2008 @ 03:24 PM by Heike

WYCKOFF, N.J. (AP) — If only Goldilocks had a cockapoo.

A 15-pound cocker spaniel-poodle mix named Pawlee scared off a mother bear and her two cubs Sunday morning after they strayed into his owners' backyard.

Whether his bark was worse than his bite, Pawlee's tactic worked just fine. These three bears got the hint and took off.

My comment:

This is great! Gotta love those fearless little dogs! I have a Maltese and he'd probably be doing the same thing.

I dont think anyone told the dog that she was little!! Good for her !!

My elkhound is generally fearless. I was puppy sitting a westie a few weeks back and brought the little dog over for a visit. My 60 lb dog was scared to death of the little thing.

And there is your confirmation ladies and gents: size doesn't matter It's all attitude !!!

Awesome article Heike

Thats one hardcore cockers spaniel, although I think mine would do the same. Labrador x cattle dog makes for one fearless canine

Some people obviously don't know the nature of most bears.
North American brown and black bears are chickens at heart.

We grew up in the woods of the pacific northwest and even as children we knew to make as much noise as we could and charge at the bear if we were face to face.

Mom always said that they would rather eat berries than boys.
It's in their nature to run away.

EDIT:

DON"T TRY THIS WITH A GRIZZLY OR POLAR BEAR,
you'll just become a snack...........
