These are my top 10 moments, obviously biased towards our Aussie athletes of course
1. Michael Phelps- Enough said
2. The Aussie womens 4x200m freestyle final- We qualified seventh fastest and came from no where to smash heavy favorites, USA, France and Italy to
win gold by a massive margin
3. The Jamaican women taking all three medals in the 100m sprint final. Good on them
4. Leisel Jones (Aussie womens butterfly, world record holder)not having a whinge/ cry after only winning bronze in the butterfly final (or was it
silver)
5. Someone other than the US winning the gold medal count (not naming any sepcific country
)
6. The Aussie womens water polo team beating Hungary in penalty shootout for the bronze medal
7. The Swedish Greco roman wrestler throwing down his bronze medal in disgust after thinking that he should've won the gold. Drama queen
8. Our Aussie diver, Matthew Mitcham winning gold in the 10m platform diving, denying the Chinese a cleansweep in all diving contests....and pi**ing
off an entire nation
9. Stephanie Rice......our hottest swimmer.....oh and the 3 gold medals she won
10. The USA twice and, Jamacia, Nigeria and all the other countries that dropped the batton on the final change in the 4X100m sprint finals in the
track and field...womens and mens
Honorable Mention
Steve Hooker winning our first mens gold medal in track and field for 40 years
Usain Bolt
And that poor Colombian weightlifter he just couldnt get a grip on the weights....poor bloke
