Spore...will you reign supreme?

Topic started on 20-8-2008 @ 01:11 AM by wheresthetruth

First, I would like to give credit that this was posted on a couple of years ago here. However, being so long ago, I have decided to make this a new thread.

As time grows ever closer to the all powerful ability to raise sentient, cosmic life from ameoba, have you been making your own preparations? According to Will and the design team at Spore, the creature creator that was released has garnered 10s and 100s of times of creatures than were expected, including some creatures that they didnt even think were possible. This doubles as allowing the future players to donate to the ingame content, which is something every gamers likes to see...their creation in a released game.

So, the release is slated for the first week of Sept and I for one cannot wait. Between work and school, I am going to be spending a lot of weekends playing God in my own little world of germs.

mmm, Looks like a really good game. PCPowerplay In Australia have a review in this months mag. They gave it a really good score but said its not as deep as they would have liked. But it should be a really good game anyway....... they gave it a 9/10 - not every game out there gets that score.

I think it is telling that the game is not out yet and it still gets that rating based on the merit of the demo and creature creators alone. As well, Will Wright has a great legacy with the popularity of the Sims, so that brings some merit to it as well.

mmm, I dont think so. Its the first game review of the game in the world apparently. It seems to be the full game and reading the article seems to support this. They certainly didnt go out and purchase the game. I think they got time with the developers to review the game.

Ive got the mag sitting at home at the moment but here is the link to their forums. Forum Link

And here is a little quote from their web site

Now I have your attention I can confirm that yes indeed, PCPP#156, on sale August 20 will include a SPORE REVIEW. That's a REVIEW, of SPORE.
We even made EA change its global embargo from August 25 to August 20 just so we could run it, though unfortunately it does mean subscribers will get their issue late this time as we had to agree to delay the mailout so you don't break the embargo.
