DEP cannot be turned off in Vista. Help!

Topic started on 11-8-2008 @ 03:16 PM by chris_dk

I recently installed an older game ('bout 2 years old) and Vista refuses to run the game due to DEP (Data Execution Prevention).
Browsing thru the help page, it tells me I can remove DEP from specific programs to my choise, but when I try with the game it says the Windows will not allow me to remove DEP from the executable file.
I am logged in as administrator.
What do I do? Anyone?

Perhaps the game needs to be run in XP or 98 mode.

Many programs written-like most- won't work or work well with Vista.

It might be part of the kernal, so it may not be able to be shut down.

Remember, Vista changed many things.

The video subsection i now part of the Kernal.
