I thought I would start a thread for the animal lovers of us here
I have had many pets through my life and could never imagine life without a faithful hound or two....Pets have kept me sane when I felt I could no
longer go on,giving me something to focus on through the bad times...
I hate saying goodbye when we have to let a pet go on to the next level but we have to do the right thing by our little pet friends...
I have recently got a new man in my life a little Russel Terrier pup and although I have always had big dogs in the past this little fellow has more
courage then any Alsation I have ever owned! He is the sweetest little man...
"Come on you animal peeps out there would love to here about your pet buddies"

what a nice idea special
living with animals give you so much in life – i can.t do without althoguh one of the little guys who possess me behaves very anoying these days
ok i am a dog lover and i am possed by cats
when i was 12 yo my parents got a dachshound mixture, a lovely creature, got her own mind and she was very very sensitive
i always loved being together with dogs, most dogs get along better with me than with their owner
my neighbor got a jack russel puppy - little bee - she really adores my son
my menagerie started about 20 years ago when i got a cat second hand, he was really my boy, when started living with the father of my son we got a
second cat, who made a family out of the four of us (1st cat was still alive!)
i met that cat when he was 3 days old and was kind of soulmate
an absolutely social and beautiful personality
i wasn.t afraid to leave my baby boy when he was born (11 1/2 years ago) alone with that little guy
he did shortly before the relationship with the father of my son broke up!
no longer a familiy!
5 years agoi got my billy - a shy little cat - black and white (all my cats are male - accidently?) when he was 5 hours old, we fell in love at first
sight
and i really got a telepathic connection with him, he used to signal me even in my dreams when he has been in the garden and wanted me to open the
door
so after seperation he moved to my new apparment
and also "strange" incident: when we had been freshly moved to the apparment, he at first wanted to go out, but being really shy he wasn.t able to
walk through the staircases - tried the window (2nd floor) which was not good
the ex suggested to bring him to a farm - ha ha
but that night billy decided that he would rather live with me than being outside
and never tried the window again!!
since i don.t want him to be on his own we adopted sunny a red-blond cat
and he got the idea being boss of the house (see i am possessed!) and pees at places he isn.t supposed to do
anyway can.t be without them and they teach the son lessons i could never do!

I have 2 cats. It is said that cats can see spirits or ghosts (or how you want to call them). What intrigues me is that in a lot of stories (bad(?)
witches have a black cat. Btw, I am not saying here that I am a witch, grins neither a black or white witch.
I am sure animals in common are far more sensitive then humanbeings. Take for example the tsunami that took place in 2004, it has been told that a
lot of animals, especially elephants were restless and escaped to higher places days before the actual tsunami took place.
We humans have lost a lot of our power to be 'more in touch' with nature, more immaterial and spiritual occurrence.

i would distinguish between spirits - we are all spirits or got a spirit or what makes us the way we are is the spirit . our soul - and a ghost
a ghost is the spirit of a person who recently died and which is still bound to earth
anyway i am sure that cats can see ghosts . you should see my billy who is very sensitve sometimes staring at certain places
and since it is in the appartment it is not a mice behind a bush
strange that black cats have been connected with witches
living in medevial times i would have been burnt as a witch and i got a very close affinity for black or partly black cats - all of my cats have been
black, only the "new" guy is red and blonde

I always was a dog person growing up, hated cats .. until my younger brother brought home an adorable kitten he'd found straying on one warm
Christmas Eve 4 years ago.
Since bringing her into our home we had another addition 2 years later, a lil boy whom I rescued from a cousin's friend who is so negligent with his
cats I wanted to spay HIM! ughhh gets me so angry.
Since leaving my family home, marrying and moving away n all, my husband and I welcomed Amari into our home October 2007, she is now 10 months old and
currently in a Japanese animal hospital recovering from her de-sexing (neutering) surgery.
I cannot even convey the sadness I feel for my baby, out there all alone and scared, not knowing wth is going on. They keep them in the hospital for a
good week after the surgery here, they do it old school style. It was our only choice (her heat cycles were driving us mad) and it almost cost us our
future newborn child (I kid but damn it was not cheap !)
I visit her every day but it just breaks my heart to see her like she is, scared, anxious, nervous, a combination of all of the above? She does seem
to have calmed down slightly now on the 3rd day of visiting her, but I just want to bring her home already.
I just needed to get this off my chest, nobody around me seems to understand how I feel for my baby right now. They say "she'll be ok, don't
worry" when I ask why I shouldn't go visit her every day that she is hospitalized.
We took her in from an old Japanese man who found her hanging out with his dog (TOO cute!) and she is such a joy to have around now that she has
settled in and stopped attacking me haha - took a good 5 months to get her to stop biting and scratching all the time).
Here are some pics, baby ones and recent
her very first pic ever -
an action pic! note her gorgeous lil round belly -
fluffy lil baby! she fit in my palm when we first brought her home awwww -

what a lovely kitten she is so cute!
but how terrible for you to have her in hospital now i know what you are feeling
they are like little babies for us
in my country we take them home after 3 or 4 hours
after such a surgery!
when my scasi - the 2nd one - has to be over night at the vet - it really broke my heart
soon she will be playing around again
thanks for sharing the pix

I believe this to be true also, Amari is usually always on alert, and being in Japan I can appreciate that she is maybe sensing a spirit or presence I
am not always aware of.

yes back home in Australia such surgery would be a same day operation also, but they are very thorough here in Japanese hospitals and I do take some
comfort in knowing they will be monitoring her for such a time and making sure she is ok.
She just looked so unhappy with the cone around her neck so she doesn't lick or bite at her stitches. I just want to bring her home every time I see
her but I will wait it out.
Appreciate your reply

Ah thanks for posting folks Love the pics cute Bunny and kitty....hope Kitty is well soon....They give us as much worry as our human friends
Agree totally regarding the aknowledgment of animals having a sixth sense. As a child I lived in a haunted house I think possibly an open invitation
for many ghosts as it had much activity and my Ma had Border collie dogs and they were forever growling and cowering at things that the human eye
could not see!
I know animals can sense our moods too, mine always know when I am sick, sad or in a grumpy mood its a shame that we are not able to tune into this
sense that I am sure we all as humans also have..I think it is a sense alot of us choose to ignore sadley....
Anyway look forward to more of your animal stories...please

VERY cute kitten! I'm in love! lol
I have two dogs and one cat. I raised the cat since she was about 24 hours old, bottle fed her, bathed her in a coffee cup (I can't properly express
how much she hated that), and she is a royal brat, but she is mine.
The two dogs are big babies with a ton of personality. They are such fun and help keep me young, lol. I torture them by taking their pictures all the
time. You can almost watch their eyes roll when I pull out the camera.
Here's the real reason why I never get any work done.
Sorry this one is blurry, but I had to take the picture quick before she moved.

Lovely thread and lovely pics all!
This is bubbles,
Bubbles is a blind kitty, she was only 6 weeks old when she lost her sight... Her mother was a cat we had taken in and that was ill, Bubbles was born
and never opened her eyes after a week or so.... So we gently wiped them with warm water to help them open, but with no luck... Fearing that there was
something up we took her to the vet, they opened her eyes to reveal she had a terrible infection in her eyes that had started while still in the
mother’s womb,
for weeks bubbles had to have 6 eyes drops a day and medication in the hopes of saving her eyes, she could see a little and ran around as much as she
could,
Sadly 6 weeks later her eyes took a turn for the worse and in one night swelled up so we rushed her in to the vet at 2am in the morning,
Her eyes where like jelly and test revealed that there was no way that she could ever see, Then came the big shock... leaving her eyes in could kill
her... the infection could reach her brain,
We where advised by the vet to have her put down, as being blind would be a harsh life for such a young cat and a dangerous one, We had till 9am to
think about it, I think I must have cried the whole time, Then came the call, it was time to make a choice, A vet came on the phone and asked us
what our feelings where, I told her I could not make a choice but if they believed it was best for my cat then I would do what was needed,
She paused and then said... "Think of it this way, would you put down a blind child?" That was all I needed to hear....
I was willing to give it a shot give this baby cat a chance, they removed her eyes,
She was in for 2 weeks and in that time I felt every emotion, had I done the right thing... how would I cope,
I got on line and started to research, I found lots on info and it made me know that I could do it,
7 years later....... Bubbles is perfect in every way, her blindness is something we don’t even notice anymore, she walks beside me, Jumps up on to
me, Walks around the house and climbs on everything just like any other cat, she finds her food bowl no matter how many times I move it loll,
We have lots of safe words for her, If she climbs and can’t get down we say *bubbles danger" she will then just sit there till someone gets her,
Anyhows lol I have rambled to much loll, I love her to bits, and she’s a big star in my life

What a lovely lovely idea !!!! I love dogs and cats ad animals in general...
I used to have a dog who has died some weeks ago... He has lived with me and my family for 19 years ... a LIFETIME !!! He came in our home when I was
only 14 ( he had 40 days) and he has walked with me through many experiences; he has travelled with us ( with me and my family), he has given us joy,
love and serenity. To loose him was a deep sorrow .... We will miss for the rest of our life and we will always remember all the happyness he gave to
us !!!
I don't know if I will ever take another dog 'cause, I repeat, his dead was a real gloom ... but I can say that they are a wonderful part of our
life !!!
Thaks a lot for having started this thread !!!

More beautiful pictures Kittens are so sweet.....
Its is so sad when we have to lose a pet I have lost many over the years but it still never prepares you when the time comes....all I can say is that
we owe it to our friends to do the right thing for them at the end and as much as it always pains me I always stay with them right at the end...I
sadley had to say goodbye to a cat I had for 19 years a couple of months ago and it still saddens me that I won't see his little face again
Many a time when I have had to say goodbye to a doggy friend I have always said I cannot put myself through that pain again and I wouldn't let
another into my life, but here I am again now with another little man he's captured my heart, bless him
Would love to add his pic,but haven't a clue...so if anyone can let me know how you add a pic, would be grateful Thankyou.....

Awwww- what a big bunch of sweet babies!!!
Orange-light-- you and I have the same hindrance to our work progress, lmao.
Bubbles is too cute, and no doubt it is the love that you give, Adala, that has helped make her the amazing cat she is!
Oh geez, I keep getting teary-eyed as I read this thread, lol, and I'm grinning like a fool. Darn animal threads bring that out in me.

I love your kitty pics! OMG! My cat likes video games! She will sit there and just watch what is going on. If you play tennis game with it in zoom
mode my fluffy will move her head back and forth just like people do at a match.
Ok, I know fluffy is a lame name for a guy to name his cat but here is why. I just hope fluffy doesn't stand in front of my bedroom door tonight
pickiting in protest that I posted her picture on the internet.
Here is my best friends cat. Her cat is black and he is named Joey! He's kinda skinny because he's always running around. Joey doesn't look like it
but he is a Beef Jerky junkie!
This was when he was loung'n on the couch waiting for some seconds when I was munching jerky. He is real patient, but rudely stares and waits for
more.
