Just Brought a PS3 - Need Help

Hi all, just purchased a Playstation 3 and only got Gran Turismo 5 with it

Need help on some games, Yesterday i purchased the following games...

Metal Gear Solid
Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six,Vegas 2
Resistance Fall of Man

... and there all CRAP! Can anybody recommend anything good? I like all genre's.

Grand Theft Auto. SA is better than IV, but either will do.
Assassins creed for a shooter is also good.

Yea thanks for the post. Ive gotten 100% on GTA IV on the Xbox 360, so i might check out Assassins creed.

Yah, and if you haven't checked out Blue Ray DVD yet, go rent a good one, hook you PS3 to a good HDTV and be ready to really get wowed. Awesome.

Yeah, i heard about how good Blu Ray is - still saving for a Hi Def TV..

If you like role playing games check out Oblivion, I think it was game of the year awhile back.

I'm waiting for Mercenaries 2, I think comes out next month. And also on Socom that comes out in the fall.

If you like racing games, Grid is good. I just got Soul Caliber 4 yesterday and it looks promising, online beatdowns are always fun. My friends are hooked on Civilization: Revolutions, Rockband is always a winner. Those are a few to get going.

one of the best Games to hit the ps3

Yeah... to give me an idea of what to recommend can you tell me why MGS4, Resistance, and R6V:2 were crap?

This isn't for fanboy reasons... but each game has certain game mechanics to them, and I don't want to recommend something that plays just like what you have about those three.

That was on Youtube i believe. Some guy lined up on the day of release for the PS3 and bought himself one, and in front of the line of people waiting to get theirs, he starts smashing the Ps3 to bits.
