Have you tried Army of Two? This is a very realistic co-op game where you have to cover each other a lot to get through.
Another personal favorite is Gears of War.

Halo 3 is awesome for multiplayer and co-op, lotsa fun there.
Champions of Norrath? RPG hack and slah, like Baldur's Gate..
GTA: San Andreas Two Player is fun.
Star Wars Battlefront 1 and 2, they're pretty sweet for co-op..
WWE games? hahaha
Though theres plenty out there, just need to seek them eh?

Lord of the rings was really fun. Halo 3. Army of two was kinda a let down for me.
