Just saw the X files movie, was released here in Australia today. The cinema was barely 1/4 full. I felt that every one who left the cinema was
disappointed. What the hell went wrong?? ** warning spoilers **
Lets begin.
Linear story line...wheres the climax? It just ends.
Very Generic story line ....any one for any movie about any thing can use it.
NO link to previous movies (other then brief mention of mulders sister)...
No Aliens, No Paranormal (forget the esp that the priest had) and no government cover ups...basically every thing that made the 9 season lasting TV
show good was taken out for this linear story that was very generic.
Ironic it comes out a week after WYD...and talks about Catholics and forgiving priests who have committed sex crimes...(im not up for argument, or
your opinions just making a point that a few people I saw the movie with brought up).
Im so disappointed, I think im feeling depressed !!

Well going in it is known that this story is stand-alone and has nothing to do with the mythology.
Perhaps you went in with the wrong expectations?
I'm still looking forward to this very much.

I'm not expecting anything brilliant or spectacular by the way.
I just want some good old-fashioned non-mythology X-Files entertainment.
I'm sure I'll get that much out of it....
...Won't I?....

So without giving too much away (you make it sound like there is nothing going on in the film) who or what would be the villain, I heard a rumor it
was a werewolf but considereing they done a werewolf episode I hope the movie is not about that.
Or if you could just say it is or it isn't a monster of the week type thing that would be cool. But say if it's a werewolf or not plz.

Chukkles..No werewolves.
Q-Ball is correct, nothing paranormal, nothing alien...but something far, far worse.
This is actually the first movie I paid full price to see..ever.
I even splurged on popcorn. I NEVER DO THAT!
I wasn't disappointed at all.
But people should judge for themselves.

it was good that it was more believable story line..., however I liked X files for its conspiracies and monsters.

I just got back from seeing the movie and I am hardly disappointed. I thought it was well worth the cost of admission and drink. It was a really good
episode of the x-files with a couple storyline plots and well developed characters....a good mystery/thriller with some focus on the paranormal.
I would happily see it again....
I give it 3 out of 4 thumbs up:

I liked it. Classic X-files.

I guess they wanted to play out to the general population and wanted something more believable that something that can shown as disinfo or criticised
by skeptics.

I saw it tonight as well, and I totally agree, big disappointment!! I won't go into the plot but not even a conspiracy, no good characters but
Molder and Scully, highly disappointing is all I am going to say... hard core X Files fans will like it despite this as I did, but wait for the DVD to
come on Net Flix lol

I had a feeling it would be garbage, ever since gillian anderson went mocheesmo everything has been ruined. I like the TV show but mulder comes on a
little bit to strong. I like the one when they fly the stuff at area 51 and people are entombed in rocks and stuff.

I`ll be seeing it soon,I loved the XFiles shows and just bought the 9 season series on DVD,which has 6 disc`s per season.(well so far anyway,I`ve only
just finished watching season 3)
So thats 216 approx XFile show`s,I`m like a pig in mud.
I`m glad you guys havn`t given away anything of the movie, though also glad you have pre warned us not to expect any alien`s or monster`s.

Wow, the movie blew. It blew big baby chunks. I'm still in shock. It was a total misunderstanding!!!!!!!!!!!!!! After a sucky last season they should
have mustered up something really delicious for the x files fans, instead they took a big poop on their heads. I've seen every episode, every season,
I loved the x files but after season 7 the show went downhill from there. The pointless death of the lone gunmen, mulder's absence, m&s awkward love
affair, scully giving up her kid for bogus reasons, samantha's disappearence was solved as if to 'get it over with' . I thought the movie would be
as good as the x files used to be, instead it was worst than ever. And Jesus, why Xzibit ?Arrrrrrrrrrrrrgggh!
