Question about the Stargate series.

I've just recently got in to the series and I was wondering if the Iraq/Afghanistan wars ever figure in to the series? I mean, their out fighting wars in space, but I've never even heard a mention of the other wars.

I'm pretty sure it wasn't mentioned. If I remember correctly O'Neill was in the first Iraq. I'm really not sure... if you want a great site to go to for SG-1 here's some.

Iraq was never mentioned in the series. Although it is thought that Jack did serve a jail sentence there and conducted Black ops there for the US. There is a thread on ATS about the star gate.
