why would it scare the crap out of me? i just dont agree. in my opinion, religion is a set of beliefs, and then someone would have faith in that belief. you (like I) may not belong to an organization, but that doesnt mean there isnt religion

mmmm, I get what you are saing Excitable, I just dont understand what JersusIsTruth was saying at the start of the thread - he/she needs to explain a little better.

I dont believe God made religion... we made that, but God made church and church is just believers getting together to talk about God and worship him together.
I think its cool how people have formed different groups based on their interpretation of what God has said... just as long as the focus remains right.
So many times people focus in on their religion and even though they might be teaching a great message they heart would be in the wrong place. It happens so often in church, people focus not on God but on their area of ministry (doesnt matter what denomination, it happens in all).

In all honesty I dont think it matters much if we wanna have religion or not we just need to keep a God focus happening and we need to keep reading and memorising the word.

I've been meaning to comment on this. God founded a church? Really? Which one? I am fascinated! Fascinated because the answer will be a fabrication.

4,000 years since the world began is even more fascinating nut something for another post. My suggestion would be to say no to the Kool-Aid!!

I think you missed the point of those images. They are images of people worshiping Jesus, and giving him all their attention and love. They are an example of how we should think of Jesus and how we should view him. I also think those images just might be there to illistrate a certain bible story we all know so very well and its about bringing that to life :p.

We were talking about God. What does Jesus have to do with it? Jesus is a religion. God is the real deal.

People may have made a religion from Jesus, true, but more importantly, Jesus brought the word of God to man, in a more complete way.
Jesus was given all authority, on earth, of God himself.
Jesus coming into Jerusalem, as its king, was the one opportunity for humans to give something close to what God bestowed on his son.
Jesus represented God, so the praise given to Jesus was indirectly, praise to God.
The Hosannas are blessings to God for being merciful and giving to us what we need.

mmmm, Jesus is Gods son. He bridged the gap between us and God and because God sent him down we are no longer seperated from God as humans once were. Hence the reason for the temple curtain tearing after Jesus died on the cross - this symbolised how anyone could have access to God and talk to him.

Jesus taught his disciples the "Our Father" and that was before he was crucified.
Something happened at the moment that Jesus died that is directly connected to the significance of the curtain.
What I was taught about it is that it was type meeting anti-type.
The Temple signified and predicted Christ.
Everything the Temple symbolized was fulfilled when Jesus died.
Hebrews says Jesus entered through the veil, in our behalf.
So, you can find three different ways of seeing a barrier being broken down between God and man, in this story of the rent veil.
Despite all that, I believe Christ still stands as intermediary between us and God.
We are still sinful, despite Jesus having died for our sins.
Our standing before God is established on the fact of this and not on our own merits.

Thats a pretty cool way of thinking about it all hey. I just had a thought..... Theres God and then theres us, and Jesus is like a filter between us and God. Even though we sin and do wrong, becasue of what Jesus did for us God decides not to judge us for our sins.
I guess thats a pretty simple way of looking at it, but it makes a lot of sence to me.

The picture I posted above, in my previous post, may not be what is going on, literally, because it mixes the two things (heavenly and earthly) together.
What John saw in vision, was Jesus among the seven lamps, representing the churches.
This is something that I think was "present time" in revelation, not something in the past or future.

Sorry about my having fun with pictures but I feel kind of tired with the drab look I see when reading this forum.
