Anyone else played this yet?
I picked it up this week, and it's rather addictive, in spite of some of the reviews I've read. They really don't give the game enough credit for
the career mode, which features the best create-a-boxer I've seen as well as some great training mini-games.
The gameplay has a bit of a learning curve as there are plenty of different punches to use, and you need to know when to use them and how to locate
them. The depth here was better than the reviews led me to believe. I'll probably be playing career mode for a while.

Is the gameplay anyway similar to Fight Night games specifically round 2 were ( I Think ) they first implemented the use of the joystick to swing
punches?
I really liked that game but if this is all about button combos I tire of those games very quickly. ( Early WWF Games.)

Well, the punches are thrown with the buttons (no joystick) which I actually prefer because the joystick has a slight delay imo. The joystick is used
to move your hands to deflect punches.
The button combinations are simple, for example, A and X is left uppercut, B and Y is right uppercut; that's as hard as it gets. Holding down the
left bumper will make you put more energy into your punch for a hard attack, but this decreases your energy more and will make subsequent punches less
powerful unless you rest for a bit. All the other punches are just individual buttons.
The danger with button punches is that it may encourage button mashing, but this will make you lose for sure, because your energy bar will go down to
zero and your defense will likely be down since you're constantly trying to throw punches. So overall there is some strategy, and the buttons aren't
as hard as they initially seem imo.
