Wife dies after eight-hour beating
www.news.com.au
A WOMAN in Papua New Guinea has died after being beaten by her husband for eight hours, police say.
Police in PNG's second largest city, Lae, are searching for the husband, who has fled town and is in hiding.
PNG's Post-Courier said neighbours tried to stop the attack, which started on Saturday night and ended in the woman's death on Sunday morning.

Another sad story. This victim isn't a baby, but still, being beaten to death over an eight hour period is a disgrace.
What should happen to him when he's caught?

I believe an old fashioned public stoning is in order, honestly.
wife beaters suck... I can't stand guys that think it's ok... and this is coming from a guy!

Disgusting!.
Did the neighbours phone the police?, why did it take them 8 hours to arrive?. It could of ended differently.

This is an extreeme example of why a person should not stay with an abusive spouce. It is so hard for me to understand why anyone would stay with
someone who abuses them.
The danger of this happining to someone who alows themselves to be abused by their partner is shown here.
If you know of anyone, ANYONE, is in an abusive relationship I would hope they read this story and decide to get out of that relationship pronto.

You have to remember that this took place in a very different part of the world from what we see in North America.
Women in different parts of the world, hold a lower place in society in some instances.
I'm sure if she felt it was possible for her to leave, she would have.
As for the husband, an eye for an eye.
And is it just me, but is there also a trend in people either not getting involved to help others, or the help is minimal, and then they back off?
I'm seeing this EVERYWHERE.
*Take note..
What goes around, comes around.

We are really living in a messed up world!! not country or town but WORLD!!
I am so glad i never decided to become a cop because being a father (yeah this is about someones wife) I would seriously make sure many of these
abusers, wife, child or otherwise, would never see the inside of a court!!
They need to get what's coming to them and a public example made of their punishment/demise!!

There are many reasons why abused women don't leave. Usually because they are in a dark mental place where they really don't think they can do any
better.
How can one man chase away ALL of his neighbors? I don't think they tried very hard to stop him.

I'm not for sure about this. I'm a witness to an abuser let me tell you. He could slam anyone down to the floor that came near him. This is the
last time I'm looking at this thread. Cause it's just to sad for me.
