do you ever feel as if you or your surroundings dont exsist, im finding it difficult to explain this, i feel as if my mind is elsewhere and my body is
here.
the more i look at things the more fake they seem to become i cant quite put my finger on it, i never had this problem as a kid im 18 now and im
feeling like im living in a very unreal world, when a gust of wind hits me it just lacks and feels so uhhh fake to what it once was.
anybody experiencing the same kind of feelings or am i a loner on this one.

Seriously, I sooo cannot wait for summer break to end!
Chris, if you seriously feel this way, then you need some sort of counseling, you're obviously young and you shouldn't feel this way, so tell an
adult what you just told us, I hope you get to feeling better

The last time I told my doctor that I felt like I didn't exist, he gave me a bag full of antidepressants to try.
I am glad that I never took them, the feelings were the side effects of another medication I was taking.
I think that you may be a littler bit depressed, just go out there and enjoy your life, meet friends, do volunteer work and just see life for what it
is, a short time in this earth and make the best out of it.

Is this relative to a feeling of helplessness or concern for the world? Just curious.
I often feel like I'm invisible (which is difficult for a 6'2 240 pounder to do) , but not nonexistant.
What specific situations incite this feeling? I have to aplaud the poster who suggested counseling. There shouldn't be any stigma attached to
counseling...... it's just folks talking. You young 'uns have a lot more and more diverse pressures that we did when I was your age. I can
understand a little, but have gotten to far away from the wonder and bright-eyedness of youth to really relate.
Well, you DO exist. You are here, typing, reading, interacting with people who have questions and a sense of wonder of the universe.
Laugh at yourself. It's served me well. Will check back.

i second argentus's question. and yes. i feel that way often. invisible. detached. i don't think it has a thing to do with depression or is anything
drugs can "fix." it's probably more a reaction to how fast the world's getting. no one seems to have the time to just BE anymore. no one seems to
be able to just let people BE either without pressuring them or judging them. and with all that's happening in the world, it can drain someone with
even a moderate amount of empathy very quickly. if you're like that (again back to argentus's question), you might need to withdraw to recharge. is
it always like this for you? or just sometimes? (if you said, i forgot...sorry...tired attention span tonight). peace.

"Is this relative to a feeling of helplessness or concern for the world? Just curious"
Possibly, i know our world is going down i see nothing but negativety everywhere i look.
"I often feel like I'm invisible (which is difficult for a 6'2 240 pounder to do) , but not nonexistant."
i feel very much so like i exsist, its just my surroundings difficult to describe the best discription that i can come up with is it feels like im
playing a game.
"What specific situations incite this feeling?"
Generally bad news, but considering the fact its now a near constant stream of negativety, plus i feel very helpless recently one of the threads on
abovetopsecret linking OBAMA to the bilderberg group really set my alarms ringing.

What it sounds like is that you've had depersonalization experience. It usually comes on when you are stressful. You may want to seek counseling and
maybe take some meds. I've experienced it many times before.

I thank Lucidity and agree with them..... sometimes we feel pressures from unknown places, and a sort of feeling of disconnectiveness. It's not a
lack of caring, perhaps just the opposite, perhaps some of us empathize too much and it drains us. I know that I have to step back from various
forums now and then, get my bearings.
When I feel free-floating, I write. I write music, I write words, and paint and dig in the garden and work my [posterior] off. Physical labor gets
your muscles and joints working and blood flowing and gives your mind a time to wander without direction. You're having to respond to the stresses
of creating work, learning, making the grade. Please don't think I'm minimizing your situation. I remember college and before that. It wasn't
all fun; in fact, most of it wasn't fun. It was worthwhile though.
I don't know if this all does you any good, but you might find a way to make a difference that really matters to you. Ways to address the problems
you see before you, things that matter to other people.
y'take care Chris

I've had this feeling before.
I think I know what your talking about.
Are you saying that you feel you exist just not the world around you?
Because I've had this feeling before.
Maybe its because where both named chris
Its a very strange feeling. Its like your in like the matrix(the movie)and that your the only real person and everything else is just kind of a
simulation of some sort. And that its not real.
And I agree with argentus hard work and writing poetry tends to help.
Listening to music can help.
Also try talking to more people.
Being social tends to help me feel like I'm back in reality
And dont go for anti depresants.
There are many nautral ways to cure depression.
So all the best.
Hope to see you back in reality

near death experience. Before i was young and carefree to anything that happens. Now just seems day to day you feel like your alone and dont exist in
this tiny world.
