I have an Ibanez RG350DX WH and a couple of cheap acoustic guitars.

I'm saving money for a Fender standard stratocaster but that's still a long way..

My dad bought me a 'Long -- The Golden Guitar' Model No. 100 H back in 1978. It's a wooden steel sting guitar 'Made in Japan'.

Mostly Fenders and a few I built from parts that I scrounged and bought from

www.stewmac.com...

Building and playing an electric that you built/designed is a hard to describe satisfaction.

Gibson Les Paul Menace is my standard guitar. I completely modified it so its a custom now..

I love Takamines, so they are my primary acoustic, but I also have an Alvarez and an Epiphone.

But yeah, Les Paul electrics and Tak acoustics any day for me, I don't think I'll ever play different guitars again. Everyone likes Fender, but I never got into their twanginess, and they just aren't as variable as LP's.

-USA Olympic White Fender Stratocaster with blonde maple neck for my main electric guitar. I love blonde maple necks, not a fan of rosewood or ebony necks, prefer the light colours for tracking my fingers on the strings!

-Yamaha FG-180 for my acoustic guitar (a la Elliott Smith).

-Black Ibanez bass guitar.

-Plus, a blue Fender (Japanese) Squier, once again, blonde maple neck with but with 2 custom humbucker pickups at the bridge end. The single coil at the neck end is still intact.

-A classic Rickenbacker 4001 bass guitar (the same model famously played by Paul McCartney in Wings and later Beatles recordings) - it is not the red model though, it's the blonde with black scratchplate.

Also, a custom-made electric guitar crafted by hand by myself, with a hand-carved neck made from a 4x2 piece of rimu, headstock squiggly in design just like a Prince guitar. The body is painted purple (my favourite colour) and is Stratocaster in shape and has a floating bridge. As the poster said above, there's no better satisfaction than fashioning a guitar by hand that you made yourself with a few spare parts!

- A Martin that I originally bought because it was inlayed with lots of mother of pearl and shiny gold, and that was apparently the kind of thing I thought was desirable in a guitar at the time. Now I realize all that pearl and gold does it cost you a lot more money and dosen't have a thing to do with playability. It's a good guitar but so are chearper Martins.
- An acoustic/electric, cutaway, Takamine, painted plain ole' black. I took it to the local luthier and had some work done. Including the price of the guitar and all the work done, I still have less in it than the Martin and it is far and away a better guitar. Lessons learned!
- Next up............600 series Taylor, probably a 614 ce.

Hmmmm...

I have 4:

1 x Fender Strat - Black, white pick guard, maple neck and fretboard ala Clapton
1 x Washburn 12 string
1 x Rhapsody (Ausie made) - looks, plays and sounds like the ovation
1 x Tanglewood nylon string semi-acoustic - got in in December and what a sweet sound!!! I just had to have a nylon string and this one didn't break the bank.

Played music in the US pro 8 years ago for a full year. What a time that was.

josh norton,

cool 5 string bass. You are the second person I know of who plays the 5 string tuned e-c as opposed to b-g. the other guy is the VP for a very well respected amp and speaker cabinet company.

When I was making the jump from 4 string to 5 I was so in love with the c string and all the options it provided that I knew I had to have both the low b and the high c. So I went for the 6 string instead. but then it took me a long time to find a 6 string with as nice a sound and response as a 5 string. Finally found the perfect 6 strink in the MTDs.

I own:

A 6 string Pedulla Thunderbass, A few 6 string custom made MTD635's (my bread and butter, seriously great basses), A erni ball 5 string for the right image on rock gigs, a new Fender jazz base for goofing around, a old school fender jazz bass for studio work, and my old fender P bass Lyte from my high school days.

My one and only electric at the moment is a 2006 Fender American Tele, black with a maple neck, I love it. I am running it through a Marshall JC900 head and a 4x12 Fender cabinet.

I have two acoustics right now, a late 90's model Taylor 6 string and a National Resonator for all of the blues and slide stuff.

My first ever guitar, bought for me when I was 13. It's now in bits, cause I'm customising it. The neck is snapped at the moment, so I'm going to get a new one made, which an original headstock, that I'm yet to design.
B.C. Rich Warlock

Ibanez RG350EX

Ibanez DTX120

Ibanez MTM-2
This is my most recent purchase. I'm so happy with this guitar, it's an absolute animal. It's Mick Thompson's (Slipknot) signature guitar. The sustain on this guitar is sick as are the pick-ups.

As you can maybe tell, I'm inlove with Ibanez. They frigging rule!

I've used a shed load of amps in the past, this amp is the best amp I have ever used. The tone is utterly bollock-shaking!

I must say, I am quite in love with my Gibson Les Paul, it is by far my favorite guitar I have ever (and likely will ever) own. My other favorite is my Fender Strat, though many of my friends are not nearly as pleased with theirs.
