The ATS Issues Thread

Thats fair enough,
Everyone knows the rules and tries to obey,

But its a bit unfair just to blanket everything under those rules.

My post WAS NOT political BAIT, it was not off topic, and it was attracting replies creating discussion.

An automated response is not a reply, when I email 3 mods asking them to please point out where exactly I crossed the line, showing examples and giving reasons.. Id expect someone to take the time to point it out.

There'd be no argument, i dont want to be removed from a thread for some personal reason or because someone misreads what I typed.

Thankyou for intrepid and springer replying, but im sorry guys, im still left here with no one showing me how my post was offtopic, and explaining why no one took 20seconds to explain it, being i took the minutes to ask them.


As it stands

your post can be removed for any reason.
no why will be given, just a simple automated email saying it was political and off topic.
too bad if it wasnt, because all your u2u's go unanswered.

No trying to educate the people on how they crossed the line,
No compromise, if they dont like it, or you, they dont need to give a reason.

It's simple. We had to create the new rules for the good of the site.

The volunteer staff doesn't have time to tutor members one on one, we wish we did but we don't.

The rules are enforced by HUMANS, we do better than most but we aren't perfect, we DO however offer an "all staff review appeal process" through the complaint feature or by u2uing the mod. Your case was reviewed and the staff felt the decision was within the spirit of the new guidelines.

That's all there is to it.

Follow the guidelines and 9.9 times out of ten your fine.
Your last couple sentences ("posts removed for any reason", etc...) are just bunk and I think you know it.

The words "move on" come to mind.

I felt the post was on topic.
I provided examples and quotes, showing it was on topic.

I requested a review, I was told I would be contacted, no one contacted me.

Now your telling me it was reviewed, 'move on'?

So it actually justifies my last few sentances.

The mods involved dont need to reply to me, if they dont like me, or my post they can remove it and simply say it was against T and C, and not dont have to explain why!

Why is it all 3 mods said they replied to my U2U.
Yet I never got one?

If this site is making money of the content of its users, surely they should reply back to a U2U when their content is removed, and the user confused!

bah humbug.

whats the point... its clear no ones going to bother giving a proper reason!

So why then was it removed if that wasnt the reason?

this is exactly what im on about.

no ones telling me why it was decided after investigation to remain deleted, when it clearly was on topic and justified.

to note, dbates just u2u'd me asking if it was resolved.

so, who exactly investigated it?

I am human and I make mistakes. After I came on tonight and saw all the drama over one post, I reviewed my "Outbox" and realized my mistake and so I posted here for you to see.

Eh hem, I had a thread removed by kinglizzard just now unfairly. I thought that my position here was a more respected one than to assume I would intice members to make an illegal act of copy write infringements on my or anyone elses behalf.

I had or have a personal dvd and do not know how to bring a portion of it over to the forum. You can just forget that, I will not be bringing anything of my personal library to ats.

I had to laugh, you really are sucessful Springer... No it is just my home videos. Private. Never mind its all explained and cleared up, misunderstanding on all sides, I did not ask correctly and lead some to suspect my intent was to bring a copy write video over.

I think you guys know me better than that.

I wouldnt really call it an 'issue' per se, rather a minor annoyance is how when in the customization center/ATS store area where you can buy/pick a background color, why isn't there an actual full size preview of your avatar? It's only this slim bar that shows what color you picked, as opposed to actually providing a preview of the actual avatar with the color you picked on it. This way if the preview doesn't look good, the color isn't how you thought it would be etc, you can re-pick a new color until you get it just right, then you can actually complete the purchase.

I always feel like I'm purchasing colors without actually being able to try them on first to see how it looks my avatars 'body'.

The ability to preview your avatar with the new color on it before making the final purchase, would be ideal in my opinion.

I didn't know what part of the post you wanted me to reply to, the part about the corruption and politicians part, or the part with the how would you like to be interviewed question.

I think what Homer meant was that he would like to interview you about your thoughts on the election and the politicians, that's all.

That he was offering you an opportunity which would "Let you" share your thoughts with their audience.

So, you would be on a podcast with him, and he would ask you questions about what you think about Obama, and McCain, and socialism, and the economy, and you would get to reply, and he would argue – just like what was going on in the thread, but in an AbovePolitics podcast.

I hope that helped clarify; Homer if that's not what you meant please feel free to humiliate me publicly or something.
