Doughnut Burger

Topic started on 5-5-2008 @ 04:07 PM by MemoryShock

We kid you not. The Gateway Grizzlies of the Frontier League promised to create "Baseball's Best Burger" in time for the team's opener in late May. And they appear to have succeeded.

The ballpark sandwich will include a hamburger topped with sharp cheddar cheese and two slices of bacon -- all between a "bun" made of a sliced Krispy Kreme Original Glazed doughnut.

Yup...it's true!

I saw this and had to show others....who in there right mind would ingest one of these things? I mean, one look at the picture and I know that there is only one way I would have one....if I were paid....

I might like it. I like maple flavored sausage I can imagine this burger would have the same kind of sweetness mixed with meatyness. However due to the fat and cholesterol content that is in this burger...I'd better pass.

A travelling carnival that stopped by us last year had one that topped that, even. Chicken breast, between two krispy kreme glazed doughnuts, the whole thing batter dipped and deep fried, then drizzled with honey.

I swear, people were having heart attacks and strokes just walking NEAR the booth.

But it does sound a little yummy....

LOL that is quite interesting.
Hope my dad doesn't hear about this. This is right up his street and I'd like to have him around for a few more years.

Ahem..they did not "invent" this. I'm really surprised no one has ever heard of this before. Of course, I DO live in deep south America so I think we are privy to that kind of thing here, embarrasingly. It's actually called a Luther Burger and was named after Luther Vandross.

Proof here: www.snopes.com...

So why this article say they invented it is beyond me. Its been around forever.
