wow i never seen her like that before, you are right that dress is not for a 15 yr old and shows too much... more than the bed sheets one but im
despaired at the fact that you dont see what i see. that dress implies that shes a party night at a town girl while the bed sheet one, like what th op
says, implies that she woke up unaware of what happened to her the day before.
and about what neformore says, i dont care about laws thats not what we are discussing its about morals (aka what would jesus do), we would like to
think that children can make decisions by themselves but so often they get it wrong, a 15 yr old girl doesn't know what she is giving away. plus we
must shield them from the media that is rendering girls that age into future 'whores' (excuse my language) by letting them know that its ok to be a
linsey lohan or that anonymous sex is cool and that the only way to be famous here is if you have your own sex tape. lets not forget the study that
was done a while back which was a survey aimed at middle school kids where it showed that most boys wanted to be navy seals while nearly all girls
wanted to be FAMOUS. in the past famous wouldve been ok but nowadays especially for a girl is a dangerous venture as i recalled earlier. and yes my
POV might be different because im muslim but that doesnt change the facts.

I apologise for derailing the thread, but felt in a way compelled to try to address in some one of the sub questions indirectly raised through a
previous derailment, again I am sorry
In a way it really depends on what generation your from with regards to the sub question of the age of consent.
Around 100 years or so ago it wasn't that unusual to be married/ have your own family by at least 16, this was/ as largely been seen as a trend of
the time as people tended to wait until their early twenties before then in the Victorian era, and during/ after the 2 Worlds Wars the average age of
marriage and consent started to creep back up as people focused on careers/ education and things like social movements rather then setting up families
(rebelling against what their parents/ grand parents did perhaps by viewing them as a enforcement or tradition). There was a dip back though during
the Sexual movements in the 60s/70s and is currently headed back to were it stood during most of our Grand Parents (or in my case, Great Grand Parents
time).
We could go further back and link this generally with the life expectancy nature intended , the lower the age expectancy is in that period of time the
general age of consent is likely to be proportionately lower as well. Back in Prehistoric time teenage pregnancy would've been pretty common since
you would be a truly ancient individual if you survived up to 40. Average lifespan back then was about 18, average age in ancient roman times was
about 35 (Cato the Younger committed suicide at age 48, complaining he had outlived almost all of his contemporaries back in 46BC).
---
Ok, so back to the topic at hand though for me, while I believe she made several bad mistakes with regards to certain decisions and clothing choices
and while I agree sexualisation of teenagers and children in general is a bad thing especially morally these days (especially since there is so much
to do these days and more time to do it in compared to what nature intended for us) that its also likely to be in someway ingrained in most of our
minds, genes and sex drive (as a result built in urges by nature) to have an attraction to young people (Considering Nature wanted us dead by 30ish),
especially if the individual in question as a strong sex drive.
Though I want to state that I don't agree with or condone such things as teenage pregnancy, Ephebophilia and so on.

Eh.
Miley Cyrus knows what she's doing. She's setting herself up as jailbait, and she's doing it on purpose.
It's not like this is the first time she's been in this sort of spotlight. It's not even the second.
Awhile back, she was being criticized because of some pictures of her with another girl in a hotel somewhere. Think "Lady and the Tramp" spaghetti
scene, except with a twizzler.
A little bit later, her private myspace pictures leak out showing her making several poses in her underwear, in skimpy bikinis, and so-on. One of them
showed her flashing a bra while standing next to some boy. In another picture, you could clearly see erect nipples beneath a thin cotton shirt.
Every time, she says it was all innocent and there was nothing sexual and she's sorry she hurt her fans, blah blah blah. Every set of pictures that
come out makes her look sluttier and sluttier.
Sure, at 15 you can be lead into mistakes like that. But by 15, you're also old enough to learn from those mistakes - unless of course they aren't
mistakes, and you're flaunting your jailbait body on purpose.
I don't care if she's only 15, she's still a little whore like the OP said.
And she has fugly teeth, too.

referring to this...
Last December, another group of "racy" photos (of Cyrus and a friend at a sleepover) leaked to the press,
www.slate.com...
A little bit later, her private myspace pictures leak out showing her making several poses in her underwear, in skimpy bikinis, and so-on. One

Oh. My. God. Erect nipples! Beneath a cotton shirt! In private photos, no less! Call the preachers and start the bonfires...
Every time, she says it was all innocent and there was nothing sexual and she's sorry she hurt her fans, blah blah blah.
And she should have to apologise for private photos why?
Every set of pictures that come out makes her look sluttier and sluttier.
Every sentence that comes off your keyboard makes you look wowsier and wowsier...

Lived in the entertainment industry, then, have you?
I don't care if she's only 15, she's still a little whore like the OP said.
Neither judgmental nor

immature and shallow.
And with nothing more than your poorly informe opinion you can tell us all that Miley Cyrus earns her money on her back.
A winning personality to back a winning debate strategy...

I( don't think it's her, so much as the people who are advising her.
A 15 year old is in many ways still a child - they may not look it, but a child is what they are.
And yes that goes for 16 as well, despite the AOC in many countries.
I don't blame the girl - I blame those who are advising her, including her father presumably.
Trying to portray an immature girl of that age as a sex symbol is sickening.

This picture in the ad is not an issue of how much skin is showing...
The picture is very sugestive, and leaves it open to interpritation.
Women are going to show clevage all the time... at least thats how it is in America now... clevage 24/7... clevage everywhere...

And what's wrong with cleavage? A womans body, or humans body for that matter, is as natural as a deer walking through a meadow. This goes back to
the persecution of women as depicted in the story of Adam & Eve where the woman does the wrong and condems all humanity.

Well I'm so glad you like my maturity and my personality. Thank you for sharing your worthless opinion of me with everyone, since that's certainly
the topic of this thread. :-)
I suppose that your own daughter, if you have one, is one of the endless parade of children dancing around on youtube in their underwear since you
seem to have no objections to that kind of smut. Poor kid.
While you mull over that sick image in your head, here's a few of Miley's escapades caught on camera for your enjoyment:

This thread is about the advert which appeared on the front page of Vanity Fayre, and subsequently appeared within the ad banner on ATS.
The additional pictures posted here were considered to be possible T&C violations as they were off topic and may have breached other site rules as
well, as they were more personal in nature and depicted a minor.

I really don't get why this is so bothersome. As a father (of a boy, so that may be the variant) I don't see an issue with a 15 year old girl taking
an attractive photo of herself. If she's decent, and all the mommy parts are covered, it's her prerogative. Hell look at some of the Myspace photos
girls have.
I personally thought the photos were very artistic, tastefully done, and show a side of Miley most people don't see. It's almost as if it's a
statement that she's growing into womanhood (which does start around her age... it's just a fact of life) and as an artist this is what you can
expect. Pure and simple beauty. I don't see this as a Britney or Lindsey style move. I see this as a Christina Aguillera type transition (which
really wasn't bad, so much as rebellious)
Miley seems to be a good girl. from what I've heard bratty and demanding, but thats part of the childhood stardom.
Thats really what the issue should be. Letting your child be SUPER famous as a child is REAL exploitation. Not Photos of a young lady, who is covered
properly.
reply to post by mattifikation
I'm sure if you looked on myspace you could find a million photos WAYYYYY worse than those. If she wasn't a superstar nobody would know about these
pictures, and as a guy I know I had photos of me and my girlfriend sitting on the couch like that ALL of the time, and yes in HIGH SCHOOL.
The external photos look like they were meant to be personal, and if so, why are they troubling? She's an Artist. This is what good artists do. They
take photos, they paint, they write, they make music. Who are you to say her PERSONAL artwork is bad for her to have?
My .02 cents.

you know who are also artists, playboy, they do great work over there. I hope the day comes where every woman and child gets to be on the cover of a
playboy magazine *sarcasm* actually a nude photo of a girl on a magazine could be a rite of passage (initiation), how about that. my, look how miley
grown, hopefully she would lose her virginity as quickly as possible! *sarcasm*

Some of us are just unwilling to accept censorship. If your all for then go for it.
P.s. Major flaw to your logic.
Playboy requires you to be 18. another major flaw. Playboy gets on average 30 million (it's been a while since I've seen the History Channel
Special...) submissions to be a model a year. Soooooo.... What are you saying? Girls that believe tastefully nude photos (and even tastefully covered
photos) of them are acceptable are "whores" or "sluts"?It's a part of being a person. you make your own decisions. If you don't like it...
Don't look at it.
Sorry your logic doesn't fly with this artist. I guess my photos of my son taking a bath (where you can't see anything) are bad too...
since were on the topic...
is this (
 )
pornographic or disturbing to you?
because it was when it was painted too... Now it's classical Art. Hrmmmm.

lol you compared a painting with nude photos. a picture that is painted with a brush is 10 times different than one that requires young girls exposing
themselves for everyone to see, including her family. Im not into censoring stuff but you must draw the line between what is art and what is
pornographic. plus you know who also views their work as art, serial killers. art is a vague category so doing go off labeling everything you see cool
as art. plus i was talking about miley cyrus who is at an age when it isn't acceptable or proper to show-off her 'goods' okey. how many people or
celebrates you know that ran a respectable life by exposing themselves to photographers? This isn't a healthy living any way being a model which is
what they were turning miley into; another anorexic party animal waiting for her fix. SMILE!

thats the point DUNE
SHE DIDN'T EXPOSE HERSELF.
I see Backs at High School Football games all the time.
Sheesh do you want her to wear a friggin burka?
Also Don't argue art with me... I know art. I've studied art for 18 of my 26 years on this planet.
The photos you compare to playboy are no where near playboy. its a young woman covered with a sheet, with her back exposed. NOTHING indecent.
Respectful women that have done nudes:
Marilyn Monroe
Angelina Jolie
Janet Jackson
Madonna
Janis Joplin
John Lennon & Yoko Ono (she's crazy though )
Nude is not evil. but that doesn't even matter because this photo is not a nude.
so.....
once again. Whats the big friggin deal. ART IS ART. PERIOD. Don't like it don't look.

wow you call these respectful, my, how times have changed. only two of them on that list can be called respectful. the others are down right will you
know what. please review your list if you weren't trying to be funny. oh ya and Marilyn Monroe is a britany spears clone with different
circumstances. angelina jolie had a fling with her bro. madona is the reason why video clips are what they are today. Super Bowel anyone; has a child
molesting brother. well i made my point. but yes again its the implication not the nudity she aint no madona yet. miley is just too scared to end up
being a child star, so she needs to tease people by showing them what shes going to turn into. and apparently shes making that transition pretty
quick.

While you rehashing the private issues of these public figures, do us all a favor then. Expose some of your dark secrets...
First The Jolie dating her brother was a tabloid... she kissed him, which was a weird kiss and that is the extent of it.
Madonna is also one of the reasons America isn't as Puritanical as it was until the beginning of her career.
Janet's Boob was covered by a giant golden disk, so whats bad about that?
Secondly her brother has never been proven guilty of anything, so the child molester thing is pure speculation. Secondly she is not her brothers
keeper, so he is irrelevant to the discussion.
Marilyn Monroe was an icon and a role model for millions of women. one of whom is my mother. I guarantee you sir, her liking Marilyn did nothing to
her but make her a strong independent woman.
I'm getting the sneaking suspicion that you are one of those people who think a woman being comfortable with their bodies is whorish, or slutty.

If it was a teen guy with his shirt off it would be no big deal, but since it is s female and you can see her shoulders, well that is just too close
to her natural mammary glands. This is what pornography feeds upon, the point where a young woman turns from a human being into a sex object mainly
because she has two enlarged bumps on her chest. What happens if she gets overweight? Then she is a slovenly pig / former whore? This sickens me
and is why I usually ignore the culture nazis - glorified purveyors of moral values and media savy inheritors of the Taliban technique.
Let them who are without sin cast the first stone....

Hi guys.
You may notice this thread has a new home.
That's because it has outgrown the original purpose of the Board Business and Questions thread, and is now discussing wider Social Issues.
Please also note that the staff are aware of the original point that was made and have noted it, and its down to the Amigo's to consider their policy
on such issues.
