Hello this is Kid OnStar your child is being abducted!

Topic started on 1-5-2008 @ 09:35 PM by whatukno

Yes soon parents can be even less responsible for their children's well being and put the burden of responsibility in the hands of total strangers that aren't even near the child...

COMMING SOON!

KID ONSTAR! (patent pending)

Soon parents can feel safer knowing that someone in a control room has direct telemetry on your child's safety*.

Similarly, Kid OnStar could be packaged into a bracelet or necklace crammed with sensors that monitor location, physiological status and voice stress levels. Parents could receive monthly diagnostic checks on exercise levels, notification if children are injured or kidnapped and the assurance that emergency services will be sent the instant a problem arises.

* Warning Kid Onstar does not condone the use of automatically disabling a child at the touch of a button as with the automobile version of OnStar

... :| Things like this really make me ask the question, "Do parents want to raise a child...or build a robot?"

Seriously! I think this concept raises the question of "what level of privacy are individuals (children in this case) entitled to?".

Thats a great concept, but rather see it used on criminals instead of our children.
Soon, we all could have implants tracking our everymove.
Scary..

If parents were responsible enough, they wouldn't need help from a voice.

I'm wondering why the younger generation even needs parental controls.

We grew up just fine without them.

Considering that over 3/4 of a million children are reported missing each year, an average of one every 40 seconds, this is a brilliant idea. This is not an attempt to lessen the responsibility of parents, but to recover and safeguard children. If your child went missing, you bet your arse you would wish they had this type of device. Today isn't like the 'good old days' when you could let your children out of your sight. You can say all you want about it, but your view would change in about 1/2 a nanosecond if someone took your child, and you know it!
