2008 Beijing Olympics Logo
The 2008 Summer Olympics will be held in Beijing, China. The emblem for Olympics 2008, entitled as the "Dancing Beijing", was first displayed in
August 2003, in a ceremony attended by about 2000 people at Qi'niandian, the Hall of Prayer for Good Harvests in Beijing's Temple of Heaven. The
emblem comprises a red seal with a calligraphic word for “jing”, the national capital, that weaves elements of traditional Chinese society with
athletic features. The open arms of the calligraphic word represent the invitation of China to the world to share its culture. As a whole the
“Dancing Beijing” represents mutual trust and an expression of self confidence, standing for the solemn yet sacred promise that Beijing has made
to the world and humanity.
It's interesting how the author of that story doesn't expose the artist behind that logo. It's obvious that freedom-loving/patriotic Chinese
people don't have many reasons to celebrate & dance, beside the fact that they haven't been shot by 1 of the peoples' "republic" soldiers:

I'm a little confused, the first link is quoted in it's entirety within your initial post.
You make mention of the artist behind the logo not being mentioned by the author. Do you have info on the artist and is this the relevance of the
thread?
You have pasted the same images found on Rense directly into this thread aswell as the Youtube animation of the same. Rense doesn't seem to explain
anything about the animation or images.
Am I missing something here?
Can you explain to me what this thread is about, or is it a rant slating the Chinese, wheres the debate, I'm not getting it?

Are you serious? This cartoon was probobly created as a joke, after someone had seen what the symbol was. Unless you think pimpmycountry.com is a
reliable source....

I assume you're responding to me?
Yes, I am fully aware the animation is a joke or rather a saitrical take on it's origins, but is the OP aware of this?
I just don't see the conspiracy, if this is just a rant it's posted in the wrong forum.

When I clicked on the topic, I instinctively thought this was going to be about the 5 Olympic Rings or the Torch, but now I'm just confused. So some
people saw the logo and made a parody of it -- how does that make it the "origin" of their logo?

Origins are a part of a subject that are truly mysterious, and always will be.
Often, the most difficult thing to understand about a person is who they are and where they are coming from - this is applied to other subjects too,
like the chinese olympic logo.
When one fails to make others aware of one's origins, then others can take it upon themselves to create one's origins for him.
Essentially creating an entire fabrication of lies, stopping the individual in question from ever having the possibility of exposing those lies
because of the simple fact that as a society, we don't tend to talk about our origins very much*.
This has been done in the context of the chinese olympic symbol (even if it is a parody, it is a parody of the creation of the symbol), for the intent
of causing shock.
Hench when you get individuals who ask a writer "And how did you come up with the title?" are then told random bull-honkey because the creator
can't be bothered to explain his inspiration to people who aren't going to listen and take his words seriously.
*After all, we don't actually know how the organisers came up with the idea for the emblem, do we?

The origin of the animation may have more to do with China's actions in Tibet and their overall actions from what we hear of them. Much like some of
the things folks use in their avatars on here.
I don't personally think that the Chinese used the image for the reason in the animation.

haha I know what you mean, I like all of those videos. The new olympics logos are ugly. Especially the London one. Anyway, I agree with you. This
forum-thread would fit perfectly in the Jokes forum or whatever works.

Years from now, the Chinese government will not be remembered very well for hosting the Olympic games, they'll be remember for their genocides.
Don't boycott the Olympics. Start a revolution against the CIA, United Nations, and every other organization that supports almost every blood-thirsty
communist junta.

ATS is dragged downhill with these kinds of racistic thread
This thread is totally created with the sole purpose of fueling even more anti-China sentiments among ATS members and whoever can see it, it's cheap
and tasteless.
Fine you hate China, do you need to resort to these kinds of low-level racistic satire?

You know what? People can think the way they want here, and I can say whatever I want.
If that video is not discriminatory then someone's mind is screwed here.
If any of you think that you can get away with this stupidity then you are underestimating me and China as a whole. Watch yourselves being revealed to
pro-Chinese propaganda when China catches up to the U.S..
Remember Americans calling Stalin "Uncle Joe"? The same thing will happen with China later on in history.
Remember, China will switch to democracy when the majority of the population is middle class. Because if China is being forced into democracy now, it
will fail without doubt just like the Soviet Union.

Racist...?
You think So?
Why???? Was it the Asian sounding voice... What makes that video Racist???
Die Another Day... Can you explictly explain What portions of that 7 second clip are Racist???
Was it that the person was shot in the centeral body... destroying many of the Organs that would be harvested after the person was exacuted... Would
the video have portrayed the Chinese better if they shot the victum in the Skull, to preserve the lungs, heart, kindy, liver, and other organs that
will be used for transplants...
Or mabye that the Gunmen were aiming at the Skull of the victum, but due to thier poor visson from squinting, and thier poorly made Cold-War era guns,
the aim was off...
Or mabye its rasicst in a way that it is attacking the creativity of the Chiniese... showing that they have to resort to the blood splatter of a
killing to use as a symbol???
Any, im sure i missed the racism that you drew from the Video clip... could you enlighten me???
Couple other points... When did American call Stalin 'Uncle Joe'?
InciNiSan, im sure if the OP knew there was a Jokes Fourm, he would have placed it there... and it was eventuly moved there... not soon enough
appaerntly...

Those 2 people are Chinese-propagandists & con-artists. They tend to lurk at this website looking for any forum-thread made by people, who want
Tibetans, Mongolians, and all of the oppressed Chinese folks to be set-free from the Communist Chinese government.
Tibet monks are shot by Chinese Guard
How terrify(ing) it is.
I wish it were not [...] real.
That short video shows of some of Chinese government-soldiers vs. fleeing Tibetans:

Hmm, thats an idea... one of them is in China, so what if they are just a national citizen who loves his country. Mabye he loves China, and everything
they represent.
But mabye you are right, and the chiniese goverment hirded 1000'a of people to go online and post on sights in a pro-china light...
Or mabye they just like the color red, who knows....
GREAT video by the way, i hadn't seen it, and would be nice to show some of the Chiniese freinds that i have....
