Study reveals why footy teams in red are 'best'

Topic started on 12-3-2008 @ 01:06 PM by PeaceUk

LONDON (AFP) - Football clubs with red team strips are more successful than those with other colours, according to a study released Wednesday.

The fact that English clubs Manchester United, Liverpool and Arsenal regularly top league tables is not a coincidence, say the experts from Durham University and the University of Plymouth.

Red shirts give the team an advantage due to deep-rooted biological response to the colour. "In nature, red is often associated with male aggression and display," they said, giving the example of the red-breasted robin.

hey what's up
this is pretty interesting and just wanted to share

Hmmm Every single team who has ever won the Dutch honor division plays in red. (Ajax, PSV, Feyenoord, AZ)

AC Milan plays in red. But there are exceptions to the rule. Juventus (Black & White), Real Madrid (Blue/Purple and White)

When have Brazil ever played in red!

Also Wales just won the six nations rugby and yes you guessed it, they play in red.

You could also quite easily argue that teams that spend more money win more games or teams with more international players win more games.

Or if you're in the states you could say that the team that takes the most roids wins!!

What about Ferrari, although it's an F1 team.
Chicago Bulls, basketball team, not doing well without Michael Jordan

What about Red China. Whooops!
