Can you help me with this (apocalypse) movie's name?

Hi everyone, this has been bothering me for a very long time.

A while back (early 90's I believe) I remember watching some sort of film on Television about the end of the world from a news perspective. It was like you were actually watching the apocalypse events via a news broadcast.

I don't remember much, but I remember that towards the end one of the women reporters left to spend the final hours with her family.

Does any of this sound familiar? I'd love to be able to track it down and watch it again.

Thanks!

Was it one of the asteroid movies like Deep Impact? That was televised over a series of newscasts.

I guess I'd have to know what genre of movies it falls into seeming there's an extensive list of apocalyptic movies out there.

Deep Impact was my first thought too....

back in the 80's there was The Day After.

Now I'm interested. I love apocalyptic movies, not so much the cheesy ones though. Be it nuclear war (Threads) or zombies (the only decent zombie movie I've seen is 28 Days Later).

Hmm, not Deep Impact or The Day After, although The Day After is a really good movie.

I've looked up the movies Threads and Testament and ruled those out.

I'm sure something will pop up about this film sooner or later!

Maybe we could start throwing out some movie titles to see if the one you are looking for gets mentioned. Although, I don't recall any 90's films where the apocalypse is being televised, other than Deep Impact.

The Miracle Mile was nuclear.

The Rapture was religious apocalypse.

Armageddon was like Deep Impact.

The Seventh Sign was another religious apocalypse.

That movie doesn't sound familiar to me, but I found this list of apocalypse type films sorted by decade they were released. I checked a few with no luck but something might catch your eye. Good luck and hope this helps

The movie you are trying to remember is, "Deep Impact", starring Robert Duvall, Elija Wood, Morgan Freeman and Tea Leoni as the TV Reporter who takes off to be with her dad when the comet hits. Pretty good movie for a TV title. Hope this helps you. It is available on DVD!!

No, it's not deep impact, that movie came much later than the one I am thinking of.

the entire movie was shot like you were watching the evening news and it just happened to be the end of the world.

I am going to keep trying! Thanks everyone for the comments and suggestions! I did find some other great movies out of this
