This a Christian thinktank with some really good information. I know, I know, you're going to say there's Christian bias there, but there's so much evidence for the God/Science thing, I think it's worth checking out. Especially if you can afford to buy the CD's "Journey Toward Creation" and "Cosmic Fingerprints". I believe they're on sale right now in the bookstore at the website for $26.50 combo pack. If you can't afford them, I'll buy them for you. I would like to have a copy too, so I can certainly help you out with that.

Follow the links to find answers to just about every question you could possibly have. I studied it thoroughly, especially the articles about time and how we and God function with time.

I hope these are helpful to you. I can't help but believe that you're seeking...and I have faith that you will find. The way you were raised does not mean that's the way you have to ultimately believe. I don't believe all the things I was taught as a youngster either.

The bible is a double edged sword. To those who judge and wage war, it is used to strike the enemy, to those who truly understand it, it is held still to not divide to the left or the right.

HEY! I have an Idea, lets look at the facts of the bible. The actual LIVE and true facts. I am sure that just about anyone in the world has either seen or heard of "Penn and Teller". The mystical, mind-bogglers; well, this is What they have to say about the bible, and like I am about to say they believe pretty much the same thing I do. As far as all this BULLSH!T goes, It is just that, and I have some real BULLSH!T to show the People that see this thread. There are 6 parts to this, because well there are a lot of people that don't have a computer that can watch the whole thing without it starting and stoping again.

If you have watched all of this, then WOW! just what started this Thread is just what I started saying BULSH!T It is fascinating, how many of these Supposed Holy Appearences, holy chapters... All this stuff is their GROSS Crack at trying to prove to Athiest, or non-believers (neither Aithiest or Christian, Cathlic, etc.) to prove what These books, YES BOOKS are completely true. I don't think, anything in the bible is correct, especially with like what Penn and Teller said Some of the books that SHOULD be in the bible are not there. What happened to Jesus as a child after he was a baby, or when he became a teenager. What would a teenage perverbial son of GOD" act like? Like any other Teenage boy, I bet. Even in "old Days" I doubt that a teenage boy would act any different from a Teenage boy from now-a-days.

So like I said this is just Bullsh!t. something that in my mind Fundamentalist Christians are trying to push onto people who do not believe in what is said.

You haven't posted a single fact in contention; just a link to a TV show by two comedians. If you're comfortable making a decision with eternal implications on the word of two comedians - then good luck with that.

If you have a serious contention, or "error" in the Bible post it and we'll see what we can do to address it.

Damn. And here I was just about to spam your thread with George Carlin videos and his opinion concerning the Hogwash that is Christianity. Seriously, if it doesn't come from a comedian and it isn't on You Tube, then it must not be worth listening to.

I may not have written any Actual facts in what I have typed, but, what I did do is show two Different people with Ph.D's showing two different sides. I did something better than try to prove it on my own. I showed proof through people who actually knew what they were talking about. Rather than try and produce the proof of the actual contradictions like I am about to do, I showed someone who like I said above, knew what he was talking about. Now, if people do not believe that there are contradictions in the bible I will have written proof, showing the contradictions. I hope soon, that might open peoples eyes to the facts, rather than the vision they have been brain washed into believing. (brainwashed, being my own term)

I am going to tell you something about myself, in terms of this thread. This will hopefully show most that I am not specifically biased about the bible because I have no actual knowledge of it. It is quite the contrary. When I was a child I would have the bible read to me and I would pray before I had to go to bed. That was what I HAD to do, so I know very well what the bible says, I am not just posting threads because I am an athiest a$$hole who thinks that everything in the bible is false, because I have no knowledge of it. I do have the knowledge, I just find it kind of hard to believe that there are so many things that contradict themselves.

Furthermore, towards the actual bible, What happened to Jesus when he was a child growing up? What happened to those books or more to general thoughts, what happened to Jesus when he was a teenager? How did he act, was he still the HEALER? I bet Jesus was just like any other teenage boy, who just portrayed himself in his adult years to be what the bible says he was.

Demonstrate a specific point with evidence. I don't care if you get it from that site. But you still have not posted one single thing but your opinion and some links.

BRILLIANT! And here I was thinking I was one against a million or so people on this Thread, trying to say that the bible is all so true. I haven't and won't believe that the "HOLY BIBLE" is true. Furthermore, It won't ever be, because people of our age, cannot be certain what is actuality and what isn't. I believe in the things I see. Not some book that says I should believe in a GOD that runs the universe, or else he will deny me entrance into "heaven". Nothing in the bible to me is truth.

I read those supposed, debunked bible theories. And how do they debunk Noah's Ark, or Parting the Red Sea, or how both man and woman were created at the same time in one chapter of the bible and the next chapter, woman was created out of a mans rib.

Now as I said before, I am not simply biased because I have no knowledge. Tell me how things are supposed to have happened, prove to what happened, did. Or better yet, show me your Ph.D saying you know everything you are talking about. That everything you say is truth. Yes, there are some debunked problems that are from the bible. That still doesn't prove what I have said. Show me proof, show me actual evidence that EVERY known theory in the bible is 100% debunked. I may then, give you some time to see things through others eyes. Until then I am still not happy that a book made up of books is truth, especially, when not all of the books are there. I still think it is fiction, and I will continue, until you, (like you asked of me to do) show me proof.

Well you've been asked very politely repeatedly to state a specific problem to address. Since you won't, I'll pick one from the list above. The Red Sea Crossing. Ron Wyatt has found chariot wheels from Egyptian chariots in the right dynasty to correspond with the Exodus under the red sea at a particularly shallow place one mile wide. The site of the Red Sea crossing has been found. The more Archaeologists find the more it proves the Bible it never has gone the other way...

Is there a Ph.D a requirement for posting on ATS now? I missed that in that T&C. I didn't miss the part about changing letters in curse words to circumvent the profanity filter though.

The OP says "What if the Bible is true". "What if" is known as a parenthetical, maybe you ought to look that up before making more demands.



I don't think it 's very fair of you to ask me to dedicate the next year of my life to taking you through the Bible personally. Seems a little selfish of you. Because that is what you are asking. Some of the issues are addressed back in this thread by others and myself. As long as you have a hostile attitude you will not be able to accomplish much with the Bible. I used to be like you. I had to put my problems aside for a while and learn the context of the Bible as a whole and then it fell into place after a year or so of study. It looks like you've been made aware it's not as cut and dry as your comedian friends have told you. That's enough for me.

My favorite argument for being a Christian, and believing in the Bible has been said over and over in many a thread, and I just can't stop laughing at.

If you accept Jesus, you'll be saved. If you don't, you'll burn. And, you might as well accept him, just to be on the safe side. After all, what have you got to lose if you're wrong?

The shear stupidity of such statements baffles me.
