ANyone know a symbol for the human race? I want a tatoo.....UNite all

Basically...i want a tatoo. Not of a nationality or country flag but one that represents the entire human race. Any ideas? Lots of pagan ancient symbols...someone has to know something. Rightnow i have an idea of the ank and the alchemy symbol for earth and some combination of the two. I have a designer who is willing to do it but if there is one already please share. Its good for the unity of the race.

My advice is to recreate the wonderful sketch done by
DaVinci... the study of human anatomy within the circle,
with the human having outstretched hands and spread legs.

It's famous, but I do not know it's name or title...

Alternatively, on the etched plate we sent in the Voyager
spacecraft for Aliens to intercept, we used lots of symbols
on that plate to communicate...

I know there etchings of man and woman, along with
other vital stats about us, such as our place in the solar system.

If you want an original idea, imagine this:

A beautiful human face...

One side of the head has long hair, for woman...
The other side of the head has short hair, for man...
One eye is Caucasian is type... the other is Asian...

The face itself could be divided into 4 segments,
and each segment would be colored white, black, yellow and brown
to represent the main races on earth...

Such a tattoo would be original, and certainly symbolize all of humanity...

If you use it, all I ask is that you give me credit when you show it
to friends and family!!!

Ya mean the Virturian Man (something like that ahah).

I dont necessarily think that this is a universal symbol for the human species. But its a start.

This OP Has raised an interesting point, if aliens were to attack the human race, what would our symbol be? Or what would be the human races' symbol for an intergalactic mission?

Leonardo da Vinci's Vitruvian Man is perhaps the most iconic image of the West for all of humanity.

From the East you might look into the ancient Chinese character for mankind.

Why not just make one up yourself. That way, it will always be special to you. Of course you'd want to do some research first to make sure its not a symbol already used.

As a matter of fact, I was thinking about this symbol for the human race since last night. A simple crosshair shall do nicely as a tattoo.

Yeah, the OP might as well get a head start, find the bar code to match the S.S. number and save space on either the forehead or right hand for proper placement of tattoo.

No, actually I think everyone should go and get it as soon as possible. That way when the world police come to our door with the National Branding Agency ready to mark us, they will think we have already been marked and leave us alone.

I think you guys miss the point....this isnt about aliens, its not about me or you individually. Its not about a revolution or creating a new identity or noationality. Its not about seeking ideologies that inherently create divisions among us through the manipulation both our human nature and thought process. It is simply about unification.....the symbol for the human race is just that, for the entire HUman RAce. All of us already subscribe to it....so why not have a symbol? Thats what i mean....so this is more than just a tattoo people.

Thats a good idea....and i know a great artist to perfect it. however, im sure there are ancient symbols that were meant to represent the nature of the human race as a whole. I was thinking to combine a few of them so i was also hoping for some of those suggestions on this thread as well. If someone posted links, pics or lists of these symbols that would be helpful as well as all original ideas.
Hopefully its something we all can agree on so each of us can make the choice about whether or not to get the tattoo. Its part of claiming your humanity and if you cant get people to understand that through what you say then you have to do in order for them to see.

The earth symbol is the same as the ancient symbol for chalice or woman except it has a line at the flat end of the triangle. It basically means fertile area, creation etc. The ank i think is a symbol for justice and protecting the people.....combine the two and i think we have a pretty good symbol but you would have to infer meaning from it so it might not bee so hot.
