I think this is a pretty cool idea..
I feel compelled to ask.. When you say Above Top Secret's Valentines Day Avatar Competition, what are the perimeters/guidelines, and are there points or something else being delved out? Who will be judging the entries? Whats the time frame for the final day to submit?

I've got other questions.. but thought I'd let some others jump into the mix.. (no pun intended)..

Ok I entered this. The new kid on the block putting my 2c into this thing. Sounds like a hoot anyway even if I don't win. I haven't seen a site like this with such cool artwork for the members to be able to upload and the amount of avatar space that each person gets is huge.

I just entered one, but after reviewing, noticed a consistant theme: the ATS logo.

I didn't see any mention of this in the guidlines. I just made a conspiracy-themed valentine's avatar ... not an ATS themed valentine's avatar.

did I miss something?

...Out of the 18 entries received so far, only seven of them followed these guidelines... Mine was not one of them either. Are the rest of us disqualified?

In anything in life, we need guidelines. But we're also here for fun. If someone misses something, I tend to just u2u them and straighten it out. As long as the image is displayed and the division is listed, the member name is a non-issue.

The only time someone ends up disqualified is if the contest closes and the violation hasn't been uncovered. I can think of twice that I was announcing the winner, only to find out that the entry was against one of the rules. In those instances, which are terrible, the rules are the rules. Both times the winning entry was disqualified. But I try to look over each one when it's first posted, and make sure all is well. If it's not, I contact the member and we straighten it out.

Our goal here is simple, have fun. If there's fifty of us, or five of us, as long as we're having a good time.. we're doing it right.
