Probably up in the morning hours - so night/morning of 18th-19th of March.

I have a question about the post count.

Why does the stat page say this: Total posts: 3,808,423

And the Post ID number is in the 3.9 million area?

There's a 100K post count discrepancy...I'm confused.

I think it takes a while to update.

I had a similar problem with an online game I used to play.

The info on the games web site was out of date with the game. Although the two were supposed to be automatic updating, it seemed there was a set time for the update to occur rather than it being a constant trickle of info.

I have decided that it will happen 11 March.

Sorry everyone, I pulled out and dusted off my K-Mart black 8 ball and I asked it when the 4 millionth post would be and it answered "ask again later" so I went to the bathroom and came back and asked the 8 ball again, and the answer was "ask again later" duh!

Guess I need a new 8 ball, a pink one what do ya think!

Went to Walmart and bought a pretty pink 8 ball. I hope it has that RDIF Tag after all I want to be tagged like everyone else.

Give it a shake and asking, crap it says, ask again later, do you think it's fixed????

That's because over the 10 years of this site's existence we've had to "trash" over 100,000 posts.

Violations of the TAC get trashed and they come off the published "post count" but the db can't adjust for them which is what causes the number on the posts themselves to be higher.

I added my guess in there. Ya missed it good buddy. Anyway, I got a question Springer...

If this thing happens on a day between two member's guesses, will the prize go to the one that was closest, or will it not go to anyone at all?

Why is the 'post id' different than the total posts?

The stats say we're at 3,839,000 or so yet the post id says 3.9 million something.

There's a hundred thousand post discrepancy.

I understand we are going by the official stats, but what does the other number mean? Are there 100,000 posts that have been deleted over the years? I usually just see an edit from a moderator saying this user has been warned and the text of the post deleted.

Care to share moderators? I didn't think the trash bin was that full damn .
