I've got mine. Can you beat it? 23 player total. The usual is 4 forward lines, 3 defensive pairing, 2 goalies, 3 extras and a coach. Players must play their positions. No moving someone from RW to LW or a winger to center and vice versa.

Forwards:

Bobby Hull Wayne Gretzky Guy Laflear

Frank Mahovlich Gilbert Perreault Alex Mogilny

Paul Henderson Henri Richard Yvan Cornoyer

The Crush line:

Dave Schultz Mark Messier Gordie Howe

Defense:

Bobby Orr Denis Potvin

Larry Robinson Serge Savard

Borje Salming Ray Borque

Goalies:

Martin Brodeur

Pat Roy

Now the "any 3". Those that didn't fit because their position was full, or those you just want:

Maurice Richard
Mario Lemieux
Jerome Iginla

Coach:

Scotty Bowman

Whatcha got?

Super Mario is one of the top 5 players of all-time, and certainly better than some of the other centers you have listed. I'd also pick Niklas Lidstrom as one of my defenders because of his years upon years of offensive ability and stellar +/- numbers. Other than that I'd have to do more research, but both of those guys are deserving.

Intrepid, are you Canadian? How do you put Paul Henderson, Mogilny, Schultz (!?!?), ahead of The Rocket or Mario? You're insane, man.
Alright, these types of threads are very subjective. But that is no excuse for going off the deep end. Let's put some thought into this.

I base my list on scoring prowess, longevity, overall achievements. I also take into account the era that they played in when it comes to statistics.

Three Centers
Wayne Gretzky
Mario Lemieux
Marcel Dionne - The third best centerman of all time
Honourable mention: Steve Yzerman, Ron Francis, Mark Messier

Three Left Wingers
Frank Mahovlich
Bobby Hull
Ted Lindsay
Honourable mention: Luc Robitaille, Steve Shutt, Bob Gainey

Three Right Wingers
Gordie Howe
Maurice "The Rocket" Richard
Mike Bossy
Honourable mention: Guy Lafleur, Lanny McDonald, Jaromir Jagr

Six Defencemen
Bobby Orr
Paul Coffey
Denis Potvin
Ray Bourque
Larry Robinson
Nicklas Lidstrom
Honourable mention: Serge Savard, Brad Park, Scott Stevens

Two Goalies
Jacques Plante
Terry Sawchuck
Honourable mention: Patrick Roy, Bernie Parent, Martin Brodeur

Coach
Toe Blake
Honourable mention: Scotty Bowman

Obviously, I've had to leave numerous Hall of Famers off this list due to the restriction of having to play their position. My apologies especially to Bryan Trottier, Phil Esposito and Stan Mikita. Plus, I may have forgotten someone who deserves to be on the list. Again, my apologies.
