She is a self-generating, self-perpetuating publicity machine. She cannot expect to belong to the cult of celebrity without paying some membership dues. She also has no problem hazing fellow media hounds such as John Edwards (calliing him gay, etc).

When she flagrantly promotes her books, ideology and opinion on every talk show and professional speaking circuit, she opens herself up to debate and criticism. She is fair game.

I think its fair to say that there are people across a broad spectrum that find her shrill and irritating not to mention narrow-minded and bigoted. I myself am a libertarian. You won't have to look hard to find people from both sides of the aisles that flinch when she talks.

But in the name of free speech, I would never want to silence her. Ultimately she will go one insult too far and we won't have to listen to her anymore, she will be a social pariah.

I have never spewed hate towards anyone. Annoyance yes but who hasn't. Besides this is totally off topic.

And what kind of positive things to people like Al Franken or Michael Moore have to offer? Both conservatives and liberals both have their individuals who attempt to paint a portrait of the entire group that isn't accurate. Coulter does not represent most Christians or conservatives. She is only one person mouthing off. My point is that why is it not okay for her to say what she did because it is hateful, but it is okay for people to say that she is a man and should be killed!

That's the kind of double standard I'm seeing from a lot of liberals today.

Did anybody actually read the transcript?

This guy asked her seven or eight times about what her idea of a perfect world was. He wouldn't accept any answer she gave.

He finally came out of nowhere and said stupid things that he had obviously prepared in anticipation of her response, like wouldn't the rich get richer type of stuff.

Finally, in what appears to be frustration, Coulter added the word Christians in her answer. The interviewer jumped all over this until she just went along and gave him what he wanted -a sound bite and his 30 seconds of fame.

You know the attention whore stuff goes both ways. The interviewer in this case was prodding her to get a sound bite, and she finally gave it to him.

Congratulations to both of them for getting the attention that they craved.

Religion for those that need it should be of one faith, how many countless dead caused by it over the millenia. No religion no hate=no war, its time to shake off these stupid beliefs, not one life is woth any of them.

Liberals are generally bitter and mean-spirited because they've lost the battle of ideas. Ask any American if they want a bigger, more controlling Federal government overseeing their life, and they'll say no. Ask anybody if they want to pay more taxes to fund a bigger government, and they'll say no. Ask anybody if they trust the nanny government to do what it's supposed to, and they'll say no.

Bush was a godsend for liberals because it gave them a target to attack, not on principles or ideas, but on personality. Liberals in Congress voted to authorize the war in Iraq and then cried about it later when Bush used the authority he was given.

So the same holds true with the Coulter bashing. Rather than discuss the ideology, liberals will attach her for calling Edwards a "fag" and now for this comment that's being totally taken out of context. Where's the substantive talk of the issues here?

There is no talk of the issues; that's how liberals operate. They base everything on attacking others instead of using their own principles and actions.

If politics were based solely on actions and merit and not on how well you can stage personal attacks, I think liberals would be extinct!

And what is wrong with that, exactly?

Hate speech also probably inaccurate and just simply trolling in real life; not anything a responsible person should do.

I would expect to see more positions put forward on "Calamity Ann" fairly soon... damage control will "cost" time for those who choose to spend time on it... some groups will mobilize, some may not.

Um, we HAVE more big government than ever before because of the Bush cabal. We HAVE more intrusive government than ever before..ALL of the points you tried to make about ' liberals ' apply directly to the Repugs under Bush. We are in the worst shape we have ever been in as a nation, lost more rights, seen the habeas corpus and posse comitatus laws stripped away, seen torture and kidnapping without cause become normal. We have seen the inside job of 9-11 pulled off by the same set of murdering traitors that has held sway over this nation ever since the far right leaning Supreme Court, for the first time in history, stepped in and gave an election to the Cabal.

Ever since then . all of the things that are traditionally seen as ' liberal ' have been done by the Neocon conservatives..all except health care and social justice, of course. They never get a mention from the scum that rules us. We get all of the social ills and corruption and war and land grabbing but none of the beenefits for the people here. It is a sick reality we are living in; the people that cannot see how despicable and corrupt and evil the Bush/cheney/Neocon cabal is are deluded. these are not Americans, they are enemies of the Constitution and the rule of law.

Liberals tend to be intellectuals, conservatives tend to be emotional and indignant when they are confronted with facts that show beyond a doubt that they are being duped into beliveing that the racketeers in Washington are actually good citizens and looking out for us. Does ANYONE really believe that the Bush/ Cheney cabal is concerned with the betterment of America? How could you? For what reasons? They have been caught in so many illegal and treacherous dealings that any other administration would have been impeached long ago; but there are hard core scum like Pat Roberts and all the rest who parrot whatever the scum Bush says, and to hell with America.

It sickens the civilzed mind to consider the facts: Bush and Cheney are the epitome of criminal minds at full throttle, with all the tools needed for conquest and terror on a massive scale. Yes, I am saying that Bush and Cheney are terrorists, criminals, deserving of a death sentence ( after a trail of course, we liberals still believe in due process, unlike the Repugs here ) or life in prison for their deeds. Bush and Cheney should be hauled in chaines to the Hague for a War Crimes trial, and they should never see free sky again. There is MASSIVE evidence that they have committed horrendous crimes against humanity, all based on lies, and that qualifies as a war crime in anybodies book.

Immoral, evil, corrupt, sick men have held this nation hostage for long enough; it will take generations to get our good name back after the scum Bush is gone, the damage to us as a nation is almost beyond comprehension. The deaths caused by the phony wars and the phony WMD's are beyond counting. The land taken for ' geopolitical purposes ' is not ours and we should never have set foot in Iraq, but the Neocons had a plan..HAVE a plan, and they are not going to stop their conquest and death march for money until they are forced to stop, either by legal means or by some other nation like China or Russia getting fed up with the illegal actions of the Bush crime family and do soemthing about it themselves. I welcome anything that takes these scum down.

It is clear that the American people are too lazy and too self absorbed to see the facts; unless they are affected personally, we tend to ignore everything that happens that might upset our little worlds, as so we see the ignorant and dumb 30% that stick with Bush no matter how much he acts against us as a nation. Bush and company are NOT loyal Americans..they are self aggrandizing and self perpetuating money machines that crank out profits for their pals and for themselves. It is all about money, vast amounts for a very few people, while the rest of us suffer and die.

I would LOVE to see Bush in chaines being dragged off to a plane to face trial for war crimes...that wopuld be the start of healing and truth for us, and a chance for the rest of the world to see us as being what we are always claiming to be; a land of justice and laws and fairness for all.

We are at the brink of losing our nation totally, seeing the dream die..and all because we TRUST the powers that be...at our own expense as they do not deserve anything but contempt and hatred for what they have done. People, Bush and Cheney are MURDERERS, for God's sake!! They are TRAITORS to America!! There is MASSIVE proof that the government has been corrupted to the point of being useless and dangerous to citizens; the rich keep getting richer and the poor keep getting poorer..sound like a plan? it is a plan, their plan for us..lets turn it around, and the only way to do that is to get rid of the cancer before it kills the body. Cheney and his pals are the cancer, justice is the knife, and the only thing needed is someone to weild the scalpel and do the needed ridding. Hopefully, it will happen soon..if not we are finished.

It's a shame too. Just another example of the blind division that's killing our country.

Interesting theory. Please provide proof that liberals invented vicious language tactics and that people such as Rush do not. You say her core values are right on? With the bible no less? I see, I guess I missed the part where it says you should wish other people get killed in terrorist explosions and where you should pass judgement all others. Oh wait...

Another interesting theory. Please show me a direct link to how people who do not subscribe to her views make her richer. I for one do not, have not bought any of her books nor will I.

If you cannot provide such proof then it goes to stand that common sense prevails. That being the people buying her merch are the ones who subscribe to her views aka not the ones who laugh at it's ridiculousness.
