Now we're talking...
That's the way to man up guys.
Nothing like that last minute pick sheet coming in. Just over an hour to kick off and another season of NFL football.

Wow.
You spoke truth.
(But are you SURE you don't want Jason David back?)
I have to say though, I was surprised at what a non-entity Gonzalez was. They were lining up Dallas Clark in the slot instead! What's going on!?!
Gonzalez is my ROY pick!

No I don't think we want David back. How many times did he get burned? 3? Yeah, great play on the fumble and return, but I like who we have. I
feel better about this year's D than I have about any D the Colts have had since they've been in Indy. Granted, that's faint praise, but just
having a "good" defense is enough, given the offensive firepower. And they might be better than just "good". Looked pretty good against last
year's number one offense, I think.
Gonzalez will get there. He's a rook and they'll bring him along slowly, because they can. Like with Addai last year.
I think this year's team is better than the 2005 team, which was better than last year's championship team. Just depends on how things roll, but
the Colts are certainly in the mix to repeat. No question in my mind.

How about them Packers!

Did Green Bay win this week, or Philly just lose really bad?
Either way...

Philly made some bad mistakes. Green Bay's offense really needs to get it going. If it wasn't for that defense, man, damn, that may have been
ugly.
I missed this week. I'm all in the rest of the season with the picks.
Here were my picks I made yesterday. I run my own pool here in my house.
9/6 8:30 ET At Indianapolis -5.5 New Orleans
9/9 1:00 ET At Houston -3 Kansas City
9/9 1:00 ET Denver -3.5 At Buffalo
9/9 1:00 ET Pittsburgh -4.5 At Cleveland
9/9 1:00 ET At Jacksonville -6.5 Tennessee
9/9 1:00 ET At St. Louis -1 Carolina
9/9 1:00 ET Philadelphia -3 At Green Bay
9/9 1:00 ET At Minnesota -3 Atlanta
9/9 1:00 ET At Washington -3 Miami
9/9 1:00 ET New England -6.5 At NY Jets
9/9 4:15 ET At Seattle -6 Tampa Bay
9/9 4:15 ET At San Diego -6 Chicago
9/9 4:15 ET At Oakland -1.5 Detroit
9/9 8:15 ET At Dallas -6 NY Giants
(I'll do a score for the Monday Night Games since I haven't missed them)
Monday Night Football Point Spread
9/10 7:00 ET At Cincinnati -2.5 Baltimore
9/10 10:15 ET At San Francisco -3 Arizona
17 - 10
So I'm 9-5 this week.
Just so everyone knows, I'm going to pick Green Bay every week, no matter what the spread is. lol
GO GREEN BAY!

It doesn't work that way...
You can't post your picks on Monday morning... You're 0-14.
We'll give you a shot at the two Monday night games.
You'd be a hoot in Vegas.

Week 1 results...
Apologies if there are any mistakes (I did this "unlubricated" ).
JacKatMtn 13-3
secret titan 11-5
Essedarius 9-7
Mirthful Me 8-8
intrepid 5-11
Way to go Jack!
One thing I did notice was a little variance in the spread used (remember, the line changes day to day depending on which way the money in Vegas is
going, and if there are any injury news). To be fair, we should use the same line (Wednesday morning) so that everyone is approaching the games the
same.
Week 2 is just around the corner.
On a much sadder note; my hope and prayers go out to Kevin Everett and his family... A speedy recovery, with the best possible outcome.

Definitely
video of the hit
It's awful to see. He makes the hit, then just falls, like he's lifeless.
Although the chances are slim, I hope he can at least walk again at some point.

This one scares me. I'll have to wait and see if Eli plays or if they're jamming the Pillsbury Throwboy in there. I've seen reports Manning will
be out a month with a partially separated shoulder, and reports that it's bruised, but he might be ready to go.
In the meantime, Browns have sent Charlie Frye to Seattle. Meaning Brady Quinn moves up to #2 behind Derek Anderson (who was beaten out by Frye in
preseason for the starting job).

Unless Manning can play defense, I don't see him saving the G-Men here...healthy or no.
After week 1, I'm beginning to believe that the Giants may be one of the bottom 5 teams in the entire league.

Hard to conclude too much after a week. I'm taking the Giants just because it's a home game for them and the Packers don't scare me much.
Strahan's late arrival may have been a factor in the Giants' D performance. The Pack doesn't have any deep threat. Lorenzen could be the Next Big
Thing (no pun intended) and if nothing else, they could suit him up at D Tackle.
