Damn good aren't they.

The coating in the original recipe can be a bit "tricky", hence the need to repeat the dip/coat process until well covered.

I like the batter approach, if only to Ensure a solid coating ... followed by the "dusting", if you will, to "tighten" things up a bit.

Good idea ... nothing like a little improvisation, I say.

It's good to hear that you've popped your first ... homemade popper, that is.

Stuffed Zucchini may very well be the next garden recipe I post, when time allows of course.

 

I tried to follow the instructions to the letter, but felt a full dipping batter would be better.

I urge everyone to give this a try...........

We have two similar results from basically the same recipe.
I might mix this up a bit, but any part of this should be credited to 12m8keall2c.
I only followed in his footsteps.

Halve and seed the jalapenos:

Thoroughly mix the cream cheese, Cheddar cheese, and crumbled bacon:

Fill the halved jalapenos, rounding off the tops:

I did go off the track here, but the pictures are the same........

Dip into milk and dredge thru the corn meal/breadcrumb mixture TWICE (repeat if needed, to ensure a thorough coating):




Deep fry for 2-3 minutes, or until golden brown.








I had people asking if I would make more.

This one goes in my recipe box for safe keeping.
