Homeland Security tells NYC-Prepare for big Hurricane

Is this for real? A hurricane in New York.Is it usually Homeland Security that warns of this not a National Weather service? Seems odd to me.Link to story- www.msnbc.msn.com...

It would be up to DHS and FEMA to talk discuss the possibilities of what could happen.

Of course there's no hurricane out there now heading for us. That's when the NWS would get involved.

FEMA is part of DHS.

New York is a coastal state. The city itself would be hit pretty hard by hurricane coming into New York Harbor here at the right angle. Long Island was hit really bad in the past.
